The Estate General was a form of government where all the Estates had one vote and the country was divided into three Estates.Lastly, the third estate is made up of commanders and made up The first estate was made up of the Church Officials and was 1% of the population. The second was made up of the nobles and made up 10% of the population. of the remaining 89% of the population and they paid all the taxes for the country and lived in property and apart from the other two estates. Next, there was the National Assembly and its purpose was to give the third estate a voice and count everyone as a vote (representation by population). The upper estates didn't like this because it would take away their luxury and it would limit their power on the third estate. After this the third estate was locked out of the courtroom and were not let in. So the third estate waited at the king's tennis court and this is where this tennis court oath took place. The purpose of this is that the third estate will not leave until the issues of theirs were addressed and then they will leave.

After the execution of Robespierre, Napoleon takes charge. He is a military genius and he graduated at the age of 16 years old. He started to invade and attempt to colonize Egypt and he conquered Austria, Russia, Portugal, and lastly spain. He cut off England's trade and used the continental system to weaken England. After all these accomplishments he had done he sold the Louisiana purchase to the United States and wanted complete dominance over Europe. He made the Napoleonic Codes which gave men more power like authority over their families and equal rights under the law. But this Code deprived women of their rights. The Directory was a government made up of five members and the purpose was to restore stability to France by resurrecting the initial revolutionary principles. Also napoleon put his family member in charge of the countries he had conquered.

Five Political changes

1.) Eliminate the estate system.

2.) Allows freedom of religion.

3.) Restores a centralized government to France.

4.) Increases reforms in education.

5.) Improves relations with the pope.

Then after all these changes Napoleon has done he was exiled to prison after he attacked Russia in the winter. The government that was created when Napoleon was in charge was nationalism. Nationalism is when the people have extreme pride in one's country and think they are perfect.

The upper estates didn't care about the third estate and raised the prices of bread and they raised the taxes as well. Third estate stormed the Bastille after this. The reasoning for this is to search for weapons and to arm themselves against the upper estates. Then after the storming of the Bastille the third estate marched on the Palace of Versailles and raided the palace. The third estate took King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette and put them under house arrest in another house where they stayed until Robespierre executed them with the guillotine. The march on the palace was very justified because there is no reason why the people that have done nothing but try to solve the problems with peace and love have to pay the price for nothing. The Legislative Assembly was put in place to try to keep the people and the monarchy happy without conflict. But this fails because the third estate puts Robespierre in charge of the First Republic because he lead the Storming of the Bastille and the march on the Palaces of Versailles so people believed that he was a great fit. After, he becomes corrupt and starts to kill people including King Louis XVI. If anyone speaks against Robespierre they will be executed and this period was called the Reign of Terror. Over 10,000 people had died until people got bored of the guillotine and executed Robespierre.
