“Immediately leave your bicycles where they are” Said a rasping voice over the loudspeaker “Needless to say, he will be released” This is the speaker telling everyone to hide and drop everything they're doing so they know everyone will feel safe.

In other words the man/woman speaking was telling everyone to keep safe and make sure everyone feels safe by telling them they're releasing him, in other words going to kill him
The author is trying to make us see that this community isn't very new to stuff, they have the same routine they do everyday, and they don't like changes because that is how they’ve lived for many many years, and it's the only was everyone knows.
This quote is important because they are always talking about releasing and we don't know what it means but this quote gives us a better idea, it also tells us that the elders don't want anything changing with this community and they don't want anybody being curious so they make sure they feel safe . This story/passage had a significant impact on my thinking about how these people are way different then my community, actually than a lot of other communities. It just makes me think how little these people know about their own town.

When the jet flew over the community the speaker said for everyone to go inside, the they told everyone it was safe and they also said “needless to say, he will be released”.

In other words released must mean that they are kicked out of the community and die.
Well the author might be trying to say that the community's have very strict rules and can be punished severely. Also that the community has no problem making an example.
The quote is important because it tells us what things are bad like flying over the community in an jet. I the real world that might set alarms off in people because it is something that doesn't happen on an day to day bases. But it did make me think on how they respond to people breaking the rules and instantly made me wonder what released means.

| The person on the loudspeaker said it. It is said to the whole community. The purpose is to tell everyone that his actions has consequences and that theirs does too.

| The plane flew overhead and everyone went inside. It is being said when everyone is in their houses

| The quote means that the person driving the plane will be released or as I think killed. It reveals that the characters can also be released. It reveals the conflict that when people mess up they can get released. The theme reveals that the book is a very puzzling book because it has so many unanswered questions.

| The quote means that sense the guy messes up he will have to leave the community or whatever released means. I see it in the world like in baseball you get a certain amount of strikes and you are out.

| When the person on the loudspeaker says “Needless to say he will be released.” happened, Jonas says “For a contributing citizen to be released from the community was a final decision, a terrible punishment, an overwhelming statement of failure.”

| In other words it makes you a failure.

| The author is trying to make us see that released is not a good thing because the book says it is an overwhelming punishment and after the message there was silence.

| This quote is important because it is the first question about releasing. When you mess us you get released and then in the real world you can get fired if you mess up. This story/passage had a significant on my thinking about how amazing the world is right now and if we changed it to so we didn’t have that many feeling as we have now and if we had weird dreams we would have to take a pill to stop them so i am happy I won’t ever have to live like that.

Kanoe Abreo The speaker/announcer said that quote. He said it to the whole community because there was an airplane that had flown over the city/area and everybody had to leave everything outside and go inside to hide. The speaker said “Needless to say, he will be released” because it was a no-brainer that they were going to release him. There was an airplane that flew overhead and landed in their community. The quote means that the pilot will be released. This reveals that the pilot is scared because it also said before the quote that he was desperately trying to make his way back before the error was noticed.I think this quote means that they are going to let the pilot go back and they won't make him stay in their community. I see this as being released back into society if you are in jail.Putting it all together:When the pilot landed in their community, the speaker said that everybody would need to drop everything and to go inside to be safe. Then, after they were sure the people were safe, he said “Needless to say, he will be released” because they are going to release him no matter what. In other words they were saying, no need to say that he will be released. For the community, it’s bad to be released even though they don’t know where they are released to… they are surprised that they are just going to release the pilot like that. This quote is important because everybody in the community was included in this area of the book and they all were surprised at what the speaker said. When i was thinking about the quote, it made me think about if someone was going to be released from a jail.

“Needless to say, he will be released, the voice had said, followed by silence. There was an ironic tone to that final message, as if the speaker found it amusing.” “But the aircraft a year ago had been different. It was not a squat, fat-bellied cargo plane but a needle-nosed single-pilot jet. Jonas, looking around anxiously, had seen others, adults as well as children, stop what they were doing and wait, confused, for an explanation of the frightening event.

In other words, the people were disturbed and confused in a time of a normal quiet, when the aircraft had flown above.
With this early example of a rule being broken, the author is trying to set the tone of how their society operates. Which in this case, the pilot would be released for his mistake. While in our society, he may have been fired or just warned.
This story/passage had a significant impact on my thinking about how this quote could only specifically relate to movies and books, rather than real life applications. Like I had stated earlier, this would not happen in many cases in real life. If a rule is broken at work, the employee may be warned or fired. If there is a rule broken in school, the student will receive a punishment or warning.

A jet flies over the community two times, then a voice coming form the loud speaker orders everyone to drop their bikes and that they have to go inside. It is silent after the voice has spoke. Slightly after we fine out what happened in the story, they quote, ¨Needless to say, he will be released¨. I believe that ¨released¨ means that according to behavior or old age, that a person will no longer be apart of the community.

Everyone was frightened from the plane being so close.
in other words the pilot will be set free from the community and may never return
The author is trying to show the curiosity that jonas is feeling because he wants to know what's going to happen to the pilot. The author is also trying to show that the pilot is worried and hoping the announcer didn't see him take the wrong turn into the city.
This quote is important because Its showing that the pilot broke a law in there community, when people break the law in like they are sentenced to prison or jail. When the announcer said the pilot will be released it reminded me of when someone does a bad thing they get punishment since the pilot went against the community's so law his punishment will be getting released.

'Needless to say, he will be released"
First by "released" they don't explain what that means so we don't know if it is a punishment or a good thing because we later find out that they release the old and the young if they are to old or can't keep themselves alive for very long on their own, so we know it is either so far so it is undetermined.
Second "Needless" so that mean that they don't want them to worry so they are saying that the person id going to be punished for flying over them with out permission, so he was breaking the rules.
So at this point we know, being released can be 2 different things, a punishment like the man Jonas's mother rules against because he had 3 different transgressions against him , and the pilot, who started this, so it can either be that or a way of saying for being born in a way.
So now we have distinguished the 2 different meanings of "Released".

Soon after the Speaker tells everyone that it was a trainy and he had made a mistake but he will be released.
I think that the quote means, that they will be getting rid of the man, maybe throwing him out of the community and never letting him back in or killing him. This quote reveals that the people there expect you to follow the rules no matter what.
To me this quote is a bit scary, because when they say release it makes me think of getting rid of someone/something or killing someone/something.

The quote is important because the elders saying it are trying to make people feel safer. The guy in the airplane was breaking a rule and it make everyone uneasy.
