The Route 66 is the longest route of United States. This famous route crosses 8 states from Chicago to Santa Monica. It was opened in 1926. After the WWI, people wanted to travel so Route 66 was a good way for Americans to leave their lives behind. At some point, it was removed from the maps but now it belongs to the National Scénic Byway. To show how famous this road is, the movie "Cars" happened in this road. Along it, there are lots of entertainments like car shows, diners, museums. It's a good experience for families or for friends, with lots of things to do and to see.

One of the must see entertainments along Road 66 is called The Cadillac Ranch. It's located in Amarillo, in Texas along the highway. It's a piece of art made of 10 vertical tagged cars. It was created in 1974, when people saw these cars and took rip off piece as souvenir. And now, people can tag on it, but there are a lots of visitors so their tags are quickly covered by others, and this is what makes the uniqueness of this place; somehow, the visitors are the artits of this piece of art.

After this exausting and incredible scuba-dive, we seriously wanted to eat and needed to have a great diner, so we stopped at the 66 diner. WE all loved it ! The milkshakes were delicous and the burgers were good meals after a scuba-dive. We stayed there for a long time and we met nice italian tourists. They were going to the Blue Swallow Motel and told us about it's uniqueness, so we decided to stay there for the night. It was beautiful and lovely but we didn't have time to enjoy its beauty that we all fell asleep in our bed.

After beeing finally on the way to California, we were both exited for the rest of the trip and sad because it was almost the end. But we stayed positive and enjoyed the last days in US. We absolutly wanted to visit the famous american city, Santa Monica. It was a dream coming true for some of us ! We went to Santa Monica Pier and took lots of picture; bought lots of souvenir and food. This place was probably my favourite during all this road trip because there were lots of things to do, lots of things to see, nice people and a great athmosphere. Then we had to visit the next town which was a little less welcoming. It was a ghost town ! Some of my friends were scared but I just enjoyed this nice moment, one of the last of this road trip.
