Pedagogy is a term that refers to the method of how teachers teach, in theory and in practice. Pedagogy is formed by an educator’s teaching beliefs and concerns the interplay between culture and different ways to learn. In order to help students to build on prior learning, meaningful classroom relationships must exist.

-in this lecture we will also explained and learned about the following topics:

·       Teaching Method

·       Assessment Tool

·       Creating a Learning Environment

·       Main Themes of the Models

We explained how to use (teaching methods) that are closer to the (students center) and also choosing a proper assessment tool, which is decided on what benefits the students the most.We also talked about creating a suitable environment that is comfortable for the students so they can focus on their studies and learn more, in addition we also mentioned the (Learning Outcomes) which includes several points that the teachers need to keep in mind, furthermore we explained some studying methods and tips for the students to benefit from to be more efficient and learn more.

 

In the second lecture student’s feedback was taken on (Century Skill), we received various ideas and opinions on the topic.

After that Mr. Miran brought up a topic about (Learning Skills) which includes some methods each with its own importance, such as:

·       Critical thinking

·       Creativity

·       Collaboration

·       Communication

Then (Literacy Skill) was explained which is composed of a few topics:

·       Information Literacy

·       Media Literacy

·       Technology Literacy

Another topic (Life Skill) was explained, this topic has an important role in the growth and improvement of the students which includes several parts, such as:

·       Flexibility

·       Leadership

·       Initiative

·       Productivity

·       Social Skill

Then Dr. Karwan explained a topic about (Collaboration) in a professional way and made it clear how students can work in groups and use their strengths in different areas to help each other out and finish their work efficiently. Soon after we talked about (Learning Pyramids) and explained how much a student would learn, which in (lecture) less than 15% of students learn, however in (lecture others) 95% of students can learn. Then Mr. Miran explained (Creative Pedagogy) which includes three main parts:

Creative teaching: includes demonstrations or movements of the teacher or any methods of teaching that makes the students focus and pay attention to the lectures more in the classroom.

it is also important to listen to student’s opinions and know their capabilities and make a suitable and comfortable environment so that the students could express themselves and attend in daily activities in the class.

in addition, pay special attention to questions and searching for information and answers so that students could think for themselves and use their own ideas.

Key Elements in Effective Pedagogy

1.    Combination: which means combining several ways and methods of teaching so that we do not continue to teach the same way every time so that the students don’t get bored and lose interest in the lectures.

2.    Content: in all of the topics that’s available, it is important to know which to choose that’s specific to that lecture that the lecturer is teaching, to know which topic comes after another and organize and label the topics one after another and switch their position according to their importance if necessary.

3.    Context: the environment that the teacher is making for the students or the environment it-self (hot or cold weather) will affect the (model) used.

4.    Change: means to regularly change the way you teach because the environment and the nature of students change continuously so it is important to change the way you teach to adapt to these changes.

There is no doubt that each person learns differently or in other words each student has his/her different way or method of learning and can benefit more from one way than the other, there are several ways of learning and each has its own importance which include:

1.    Touching (contact).

2.    Vision (seeing or looking).

3.    Writing.

4.    Listening.

5.    Copy.

6.    Speech.

7.    Lecturing (Teacher).

1.    Teaching Methods

·       Lecturing: is one of the ways that the lecturer teaches the students, it is (positive) if the teacher’s voice, movement, and clothes are influential, the advantage of this method is that the teacher can see all the students in the classroom and can deliver what he wants in a short amount of time, however the downside of this method is that the teacher is the only one that is speaking and the students are only listening, so there won’t be any activities.

The teacher’s feedback was taken on this topic and each of them gave nice explanation of this topic and made the session more informative.

 

·       Seminar: which is shorter compared to a lecture and an advanced topic is explained, such as: Paper

·       Workshops

·       Written assignment: which is simply done through writing about a certain topic.

·       Laboratory/Field work: this method is very informative as the student is inside the field and it includes practical work so it is more beneficial for the students.

·       Graduation Project: also referred to as the final year project, it is done at the student’s final stage with the supervision of a teacher on a specific topic that would benefit the student a lot, the students have to complete their project before the end of their degree to complete their graduation.

·       Fish-bowl learning: is also another method of learning where student face each other in a circle and discuss a topic, in this method the students ask and answer each other’s question and everyone’s opinion is taken, also changes is made in the circle so that the students outside of the circle will also have a chance to participate in the discussion, in the final stage the students come to a conclusion after everyone’s opinion is taken.

·       Flipped learning: is this type of learning the topic is given to the students before the classroom and later in the classroom only that topic is discussed.

·       Authentic learning: in this method the students learn in an explorative way or in other words through research, where a real issue is given to students to research and solve by themselves.
