Initial thoughts

This course appears exciting as I love producing things, the beginning process will definitely be long but once something has been configured .
From experience in art subjects in high school where the process of the artwork was crucial where brainstorming and concepts was a big component I feel that the beginning steps will come at ease.
No ideas have currently been made but I imagine something that is colourful whatever that means.

The message I want to promote is to spread awareness surrounding fast fashion. Specifically on how much clothing gets thrown away and the waste involved.

The target audience of my message will target young adolescence. As the topic is focused on clothing and it is expected that everyone will wear clothing, will be targeted to a larger range of people. What are the negative impacts of fast fashion?
In order to understand the answer to this question, I will be required to research the implications of fast fashion. I will also learn about how to distribute unwanted clothing better.l

Who does this topic target?
This topic is targeted towards teens and young adults as this is the price range that they can typically afford. It also can target a much larger demographic as everyone is required to wear clothing as it is an expected social norm.

How does this impact my target demographic?
I feel this is a well known topic for them but still choose to ignore it as it doesn't really impact them. I want to highlight to true implications of their actions.

How will this research be conducted?
To research this topic a series of sources will be used. Such as articles, books, and websites based on academic research.

The book titled, The Dirty Side of the Garment Industry is written by Nikolay Anguelov and focuses on the negative impacts of the fashion industry. The information told in this book centres on the business aspect of the fashion industry and how companies encourage consumers to purchase their products. The major tactic companies use is relying upon consumers to impulse buy, each type of retailer and their target demographic have their methods for achieving this. Retailers like Costco, lure consumers in due to their low-price business model. As for retailers that specifically focus on fast fashion, instead of a low-price model they create an overstimulated environment. These companies also use fabricated lies to present themselves as eco-friendly and produce clothing of high quality despite being poorly made.

I want them to be surprised at the thought of where their clothes end up or for them to take action.

Blue Hat (process) - For this task, I need to configure what should be in the video will require an actor or a specific location. I will also need to prepare props and include clothing. The process would be the layout of the video, filming the video, and then editing the video.
White Hat (facts) - The facts that will be in this video relate to landfill. If clothing isn't disposed of properly it will be a part of already existing landfills.
Red Hat (Feelings) - I want viewers to feel shocked. I want to show the result of their actions.
Green Hat (Creativity) - An idea I have is to show the life of a singular piece of clothing and showcase this in a time-lapse. It would start when someone first buys the clothing and films an unboxing haul, then them choosing the shirt to wear. Then realise they are over the shirt and therefore puts it into a discard pile, then the discard pile turns into a landfill pile of clothes. It will finish with fun facts about landfill and fashion.
Yellow Hat (Benefits) - The actions I want viewers to take action to think about their fashion purchases. Donate the clothing and don't have an abundance of cheap clothing.
Black Hat (Cautions) - The cautions involve, the ideas falling flat, the message being unclear and unable to get filming locations.

Attention - The attention will be grabbed by using an aesthetically pleasing video that is typically seen on social media. Using colour schemes and formats that are familiar to viewers interested in this culture.
Interest - As for interest, I will state from the get-go that this is a fashion video and question how this video will end.
Desire - I want the viewer to find this video cool showing the lifestyle of a clothing garment and how it would end up in.
Action - To finish off I want the viewers to become aware of how where clothes end up and think of better options of where they buy their clothes and where to dispose of it.

This promotional video will show the life of a piece of clothing through a time-lapse.
It will begin in a person's bedroom as they perform an unboxing haul with the garment as they sit on their bed. The video will continue as this person lives through life and cuts to them wanting to wear the shirt they have recently bought out to an event. It will again show the person living through life again as a time-lapse. Then the person will then come to the realisation that they don't want to own this shirt anymore so they add it to a discard pile. It pans to the pile of clothes and then transitions to the clothing in a landfill. It will end with facts about when clothes end up in landfills.

The fonts I have chosen are titled Charter Bold and Charter. These will be applied to my video as it offers a mature tone. It's also aesthetically pleasing.
As for the colour I lead towards a creative mindset but also want to promote growth. Which are represented by the colours purple and green.
