Ursula Von Rydingsvard is an incredible artist introduced to me first by my sculpture professor via Art21, and then reintroduced to me by my advisor as I was working on my ASSET project. Von Rydingsvard creates massive wood sculptures that boldly exhibit the beauty of the wood they are made from as well as the rough cuts created while carving forms while at the same time asking the viewer to contemplate these incredible forms. I love the effect made as I notice the individual components of wood that make up the whole.
