         <description><![CDATA[<p>My name is Vasiliki but my friends call me Vanna. <span style="font-size: 13px;">I teach Physical Education in a Lyceum in Athens, Greece. I am coach in Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics and at school I  teach basketball, volleyball, table tennis ,aerobic and greek traditional dances.</span></p><p>I consider myself as a creative person. I am a crazy crafter <span style="font-size: 13px;">and totally in love with the sea.  I have create an </span><span style="font-size: 13px;">Artistic lab at school where me and my students,using different kind of materials, give life in our ideas.I am a photography lover.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">I try to motivate my students...I always say to  believe in themselves, be positive,to create their destiny through knowledge, follow  their dreams.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;"><br></span></p>]]></description>

         <title>my school: 1st Lyceum of Ilion, Athens,Greece</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I work in a public Lyceum in Western Athens. There are 280 students aged 15-18 years  and 25 teachers. The building is old and we we have some facilities. There is   one PC Lab with 12 desktop computers and a projector, two Sciences Labs with computer and projectors, one classroom with interactive white board, one library which has 2 desktop computers. We dont have tablets . There is wifi but only teachers have access. </p><p>In our school there are educational programms in coopearation with the Athens University of Phylosophy, educational programms on Sciences and an erasmus+ project (2014-2016)</p>]]></description>

         <title>my experience to Technology</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Some people find it strange that a Physical education teacher uses technology . I keep saying that world is changing and every day more and more people have access to information, education, new aspects of life. Students through technology are able to have authentic and meaningful learning experiences . That can happens in PE too! And of course in our daily physical activities. Do you know exergames? Lets say that is one step toward fitness...time to leave your chair and see exercise in a different way.</p><p>Except the PE lesson I also teach a lesson which is called "project" and has to do with a kind of research at school,usually in theoretical basis.</p><p>I bought my  ipad a year ago and I use a lot of applications in my lessons. </p><p>One of the most interesting and interactive  lesson I presented  was when ,using the Anatomy4D application, my students had a "real" journey inside the human heart!!!!Almost all students downloaded the app in their smartphones.</p><p>Applications I use are:AppInventor2, Socrative, ClassDojo,Owaves,QR reader,Canvas,Educreations,Nearpod,Wikispaces,Evernote and many photos and  video editing apps.</p><p>This period I use the iAnalyze.</p><p>Me and my students participated to Code Hour creating an application using the AppInventor2 and they reward by the Microsoft Greece with usb bracelets!!! </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>etwinning was my first approach to a new and different kind of learning and education. </p><p>on line seminars, webinars and articles gave me the opportunity to meet new people and inspired teachers. </p><p>Now, three years later, I participate in an erasmus+ project about innovation and new technologies ine education. I am the coordinator of our school. </p><p>what a chance! Just before the end of our first year and my students created a smartphone application with their work. Ok, its a ready made one, but this period we try to create our own application! Even if we dont manage it or isnt perfect, students will have their "touch" in creativity, collaboration.</p><p>On September starts the PE period...so many things to do and share with my european colleauges and friends.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>This application created by the greek students of 1st Lyceum of Ilion,Athens,GREECE who participate in the erasmus project: "Preparing for life in the 21st century".Greece and 5 more partners are participating:Hungary,Romania,Turkey,italy and Spain. Students had to create a phrase book which can be used by tourists who want to visit Greece.So they decided to perform their activity,creating an application for mobiles. <br></p><p>Technology is changing our world in ways unimaginable even a decade ago. Mobile technology in particular has begun to permeate our daily lives. It is also raising the quality of education and improving access to it.Mobiles can become great learning tools. There are learning platforms and applications that make possible for teachers and students to collaborate in discussion areas and chat with each other making blended learning a real possibility.Future school is getting closer to most of us.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Since today, as far as I know, there are no tablets in greek  public schools.
Our  PC Lab has only 12 desktop computers, which are not so new . Our students have their own smartphones,  laptops and tablets and bring them at school when is asked by the teachers. I do believe that important is the role or each country’s  educational policy. Technology is not used in the most subjects as teachers ( some of them are “affraid” of technology)  do not have the proper equipment.</p> <span style="font-size: 13px;">We have to make a step forward and </span><span style="font-size: 13px;">include technology in our teaching. Tablets can motivate students,  they can develop their creativity and with our </span><span style="font-size: 13px;">help start using them to an educational way. It’s an innovative learning environment.</span><p>The fact that students have great skills in technology and are very familiar togames and social media, help us a lot.</p><p>So what do we have here? Tablets in a PE lesson…? Why not? There are many apps a PE teacher can use. Apps with which can keep notes for the students, involvement with  PE and fitness progress, team strategies, information about the students  improvement . Using the tablet camera, can capture any physical activity and with students analyze it in detail to improve the next performance. A PE teacher can have authentic assessment and grading, two very important and challenging  issues in PE. </p><p><b>Teach visually,interactively</b>. I think the most important part. Students see themselves ,see their  mistakes and next time do the correct movement. </p><p>Is important to PE teachers to embrace tablets. When use them properly can motivate students to participate in physical activities and obtain healthy behavior. Students in real time can obtain and provide information in topics like sport technique, team strategies, sport psychology,  health articles on  obecity, heart diseases, BMI, nutrition and so many others, create surveys, having feedback in their  work, keeping their goals and tested their improvement after the ‘end period’ of an application. Students using apps like heart rate, podometer, globalactive etc are getting more responsible for their measures and physical activities habits.</p>]]></description>

I think that is a great platform where I upload my lesson plans and my students participate uploading their homework assignments. I do advice you to use it.Its a safe,closed network, between you and your students. There is immediate feedback and that's important. <p>One of the basic problems is the unwilling of some
teachers to work using&nbsp; technology and
devices.<span> Teachers need instruction on how to
incorporate with these devices into the learning process.Of course there students who might be better than we are, but we&nbsp; can use them as (I often&nbsp; say) “assistant coaches”. These students will be our real help in the classroom. We must pay attention in teachers development&nbsp; and their implementation.Using tablets or other devices means that we have to change our strategies in teaching, apply new methods in our classroom, be ready to “learn”&nbsp; .Students must be convinced&nbsp; that this is a new learning and studying
method, its not just for fun. So is important to give roles and challenges to discover this new knowledge.It would be
great if we had one tablet for each student. We cant…so I think that having a pilot classrooms for an entire year is a good idea.
Schools at the end of the year will be able to realize the tablets’ successes or failures. If a school cannotneffort financially moving to a 1-1 tablet, then Bring your Own Device (BYOD) is the next good movement.</span></p>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>First, has to change our educational
system, which is quite strict and does not gives us &nbsp;freedom to use a different learning program.
In my subject(PE),using tablets is a unique&nbsp;
challenge as my students can&nbsp;
participate in interactive activities and can have in a few minutes&nbsp; a quick survey and feedback. I have a large
number of students who own a tablet. This year I have demonstrate them some PE applications
and on the next school year we are going to use them in the classroom.<span style="font-size: 13px;">I’m thinking of creating a net with PE</span><span style="font-size: 13px;">teachers who use or going to use tablets in their class ,where we can collaborate,</span><span style="font-size: 13px;">share our ideas and good practices.</span></p>]]></description>
