William Eggleston is credited with putting color photography in the main stream. His pictures are very vibrant and bright and most are pictures of ordinary objects. For example he took pictures of coke bottles, vending machines, air fresheners, barricades etc.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Eggleston

This is a candid picture by Henri Cartier-Bresson. It shows his obsession for candid photos. He was also one of the only photographers that was allowed to take photos in the Soviet Union as shown by the Kremlin in the background. He took pictures of the cold, harsh Soviet Union area and the effects of communism on the people of present day Russia. Everyone in the picture does not look very happy with their life, and with the Kremlin in the background it shows the emphasis on the dictatorship being above the people. The Kremlin is also centered which also puts a lot more emphasis on it than on the people in the foreground.

German Soldiers Surrender Upon the Liberation of Paris, 1944

This also shows Henri Cartier-Bresson's style. He likes to take a lot of candid pictures, which is what this is. Also he was a corporal in the photo and film unit in World War II. This is a picture of the Germans surrendering in France that signaled the final surrender in Europe. This picture captures their faces as they are surrendering and it shows their anger perfectly.

This is one of William Eggleston's most famous photographs. It was a dye transfer print the Eggleston said was one of his hardest photographs to make. It is simply a light bulb on a red ceiling. It shows the simplicity and the power of light at the same time by changing the color of the ceiling to be red. The red ceiling also makes the light bulb stand out.

The focus of the picture is the signs, but the background trees are just as important in this picture.

This is an up close and personal picture of a hammerhead shark. This is a very typical thing that Brian Skerry does when he takes pictures. He has many pictures of sharks up close and even the inside of their mouths. This picture shows the size of the head of the shark perfectly. This picture also shows the power and the eerie emptiness of the ocean as well.

Where Brian Skerry takes magnificent pictures of the fish under the sea, he also takes great pictures of the coral and flora under the sea. This picture illustrates this perfectly as it pictures both the flora and the fauna in the same picture. This picture shows his style of taking close up pictures of marine life.
