Students came up with some interesting think and wonder questions, “I think I see 2 people fighting because of politics-a war is starting-they are locked up-the pic has a lot of meaning that we can’t see-they are pushing the war to other sides because they don’t want something.” 
Another student had these wonder questions, “What are they fighting about? What is the boy saying? Why is the letter W and R  split into two countries and the letter A doesn’t? Why are they wearing yellow dresses? What is the girl saying? Why will the word be WAR?”

We needed to stop and discuss throughout the activity. Their ideas were very shallow at the start but once discussions took place, students became more confident. “People in the web sometimes make fake news to get more viewers and subscribers.” Students were able to make connections with what is happening in the world at the moment.

Students were able to understand the power of fake news and how it connects us to our past and future.

Sometimes it seems as if students understand a text but when you ask them inferences from the text  you realise it’s very surface level thinking. They haven't really thought about a text and therefore it's almost fake thinking. I found the 4C’s very informative because I was able to understand how students were thinking about the text on a much deeper level, as well as what they already knew about the world around them.
