Her sister normally a strong fearless girl looked down at he slippers and whispered “bloody Mary.”
Carrie took this in as a lightning bolt cracked in the window behind her. The night shattered into white light as if Zuez himself were hurling his thunderbolts from Olympus. Then Carrie hiding a smirk asked “what about bloody Mary."
Its just a silly old folk tale or something. Doesn’t it just show you the face of your future husband. I mean if your crazy enough to believe in that stuff”
“Its real” jenny snapped suddenly whirling her head towards Carrie “I actually did the whole stupid ritual." I thought it was just a joke so i did what the website told me to do. I got a hand mirror I lit a candle I walked backwards up the stares with my eyes closed I said the name bloody mary three times and then opened my eyes and looked into the mirror. I saw the bloody mary ghost there. She was staring at me with these scary glowing eyes. Why did I do it.”
Carry paused at that. She thought for a minute feeling jennys trembling gaze still boring into her.
Jenny watched her as carry looming in the dark like shadowy wraith slowly began to smile.
“Eww. scary. gross” jenny hissed barely able to get the words out. “What are you smiling about”
“just thinking” carrie said with a twinkle in here eye. “You really should pay more attention in science class.”
Jenny scowled astounded that her sister would talk about school at a time like this.
“It’s all about how your eyes work Silly.” said carry. “Here. watch this.”
As jenny watched carrie pulled out the little flashlight on her keychain and shined it right into Jennys face.
“Oww what’s wrong with you” jenny said whirling away.
“Now look at me again” carry snickered
Jenny looked and in a flash her sister seemed to have a single blazing red eye. She gasped someone scared angry and relieved all at once
“How--”
“Just read up on the photo after effect someday” carry said rolling her eyes. “Now clean yourself up I’m making macaroni.
With that she skipped out of the room leaving jenny to grumble there on the floor

Then Carrie, hiding a smirk, asked, “What about Bloody Mary? It's just a silly old folk tale or something. Doesn’t it just show you the face of your future husband? I mean, if you're crazy enough to believe in that stuff...”
“It's real,” Jenny snapped, suddenly whirling her head towards Carrie, “I actually did the whole stupid ritual. I thought it was just a joke, so I did what the website told me to do. I got a hand mirror, lit a candle, walked backwards up the stairs with my eyes closed, said the name "Bloody Mary" three times, and then opened my eyes and looked into the mirror. There I saw the ghost of Bloody Mary. She was staring at me with these scary, glowing eyes. Why did I do it?”
Carrie paused at that. She thought for a minute, feeling Jenny's trembling gaze still boring into her.
Jenny watched her as Carrie, looming in the dark like a shadowy wraith, slowly began to smile.
“Ew. Scary. Gross,” Jenny hissed, barely able to get the words out. “What are you smiling about?”
“Just thinking,” Carrie said with a twinkle in her eye. “You really should pay more attention in science class.”
Jenny scowled, astounded that her sister would talk about school at a time like this.
“It’s all about how your eyes work, silly,” said Carrie. “Here, watch this.”
As Jenny watched, Carrie pulled out the little flashlight on her keychain and shined it right into Jenny's face.
“Ow, what’s wrong with you?” Jenny said, whirling away.
“Now look at me again,” Carrie snickered.
Jenny looked, and in a flash, her sister seemed to have a single blazing red eye. She gasped, somehow scared, angry, and relieved, all at once.
“How--”
“Just read up on the photo after effect someday,” Carrie said, rolling her eyes. “Now clean yourself up, I’m making macaroni."
With that, she skipped out of the room, leaving Jenny to grumble there on the floor.
