Student Will:
Read "Just like Grandma" by Kim Rogers and complete a worksheet that describe characters, settings, and major events in a story, using key details. Students will also complete another worksheet Identify words and phrases in stories or poems that suggest feelings or appeal to the senses.

Reading purposefully and actively. Use the illustrations in a text to help explain its main idea and details in a text to describe its key ideas.

Students will:

Read the Native American story and with a partner they will identify details in the text and main ideas using a highlighters and crayons. And will also color the illustration which helps illustrate the text.

students will :

Compare and contrast both stories on Native Americans and will complete the worksheet by writing similarities and differences in the stories. For example what they did, any traditions, similar food, and what the main ideas of the stories were.

Comparing diverse cultures using primary sources such as photographs, artifacts, and music and secondary sources such as fiction and non fiction.

Students will:

Students will choose one of the six tribes mentioned in the video and write on a paper

• 5 facts on each tribe. Can get facts from the video they watched or search on their own for the facts.

  Will make a drawing based on one of the facts they wrote about on one of the Native American tribes

• students will be sharing Drawing and facts to the class.

Explaining and explore origins of key Native American symbols, documents, landmarks, holidays, and leaders as well as their importance from the past to the present in our country

Students will :

Get in groups of two or three and will research on a Native American tribe and will research on:

• One important thin they're known for.

• Name three chiefs in a Native American tribe

• What impact the each chief had that shaped the tribe they are in?

  Include a picture of :

• Three Native chiefs and what symbol signifies the tribe.

Students can create:

power points or posters for project.

Students will create a time line on important Native American history from the dates 1513 - 1838.

Students will choose 5 random dates between 1513 -1838 using the Article on Native Americans I have provided, and will explain why they choose that date and why was it an important date in history at the time.

Students will also be sharing the 5 dates they choose to the class.

Compose two-dimensional shapes or three-dimensional shapes to create a composite shape

Students will work on two worksheets that help the students create composite shapes and will count how many shapes are inside a figure or fit in a figure.
