Recipe- Flour Tortillas-- Quesadillas

MAIN TOPIC FOOD- Each of us will discuss and look up one of these 4 key ingredients in Mexican Cuisine.  Tortillas, Chocolate, Chiles and Cactus. We will look up the history of each of these ingredients and discuss how each ingredient is used in some popular Mexican recipes/foods/drinks, etc.. Maria will focus on the Flour tortillas and will follow after her description of Corn, its usage in popular Mexican foods, then corn tortillas, and finally  will finish this section with a recipe of Flour Tortillas.

Topic 1- Holidays   (Maria)
Intro will introduce  how Holidays play a role in this culture. I will probably write 4-6 body paragraphs, one - two  per holiday. The holidays I will research will be Christmas, Semana Santa, Día de los Ninos, and Independence Day.

Topic 2- History of the Indigenous Cultures (Blaine)
I will give a brief introduction of what tribes were the largest in existence in Mexico before colonialism and what current ones still exist. Mexico is home to 68 Indigenous Peoples, each speaking their own native language and together accounting for 364 variants
The body paragraphs will consists of the following tribes which are considered the largest: Aztecs/Náhuatl , Maya , Zapoteco , and Yaqui.

Topic 3- Landmarks (Karen)
I will introduce how Mexico  is home to one of the most visited landmarks and discoveries.
My body paragraphs will consist of:(1)the world's largest pyramid, (2) Mexico City is One of the Oldest Cities in North America and its landmarks,  and (3) how the meteorite that wiped out dinosaurs struck Mexico is near the Yucatan penisula, Chicxulub crater. 

Topic 4- Contributions to the world (Darnetta)

I will introduce how Mexicans have invented some of the most useful/consummed items around the world.  I will write aboutthe following topics(pargraphs): 1. Oral contraceptives, 2. color television,  3. Anti-graffitti Paint and 4. Foods like Flaming Hot Cheetos's and Popcorn.
