There was a show on Disney called "Out of the Box" that aired in the late 90s - early 2000s. The idea of the show, from what my 7-10ish year old brain can remember, was about a clubhouse that was literally inside a box while telling children to think outside the box with crafts and songs.

It was interesting to read Lizzie Jepsen's post thinking about the box metaphor. At one point she talks about how the only time we really try to go outside our boxes is in our angsty years. This got me thinking, and it is something they have us think about a lot in boxing, to be outside the box you have to continue to challenge yourself to breakdown the walls of the next box. Even if you are thinking outside the box there is still a limit, your walls. You can never know if you are still in a box or not because you have to think outside of it before you can look back and see that you were previously in one.

We gave our boys a puppy for Christmas a few years ago...she didn't like being inside the box (for the 20 seconds she was there). Sometimes we let ourselves get put in boxes we don't like, we are trapped in our boxes of our own making or boxes we don't like. To shed those ideals we need to think outside the box...or redefine what it means to be in a box.

I didn't like looking boxy, which was also a thing...I don't like living my life in boxes, like calendar boxes, because I feel like the "boxiness" is stifling, yet if I don't create boxes I don't accomplish anything. I am learning to create boxes that have room for...movement.

Reading the second chapter MWLB made me think about how "Time is Money" is the basis of Film and Theatre, and not in a metaphorical sense. In arts fields your time spends someone else's money. Every hour spent on a film set costs the budget X amount of dollars so to keep to the filming budget you must keep to a strict timeline. Where "time is money" means something different to someone who isn't on those restrictions.

One that i am actually kind of curious as to its origins, but it is meant to hint that what is being mentioned may be of greater use to someone.
