Need a waterproof jacket with a hood ASAP. Winter placement is in less than 6 weeks. Unsure what we are supposed to wear if attending a job outside in the rain, cold snow etc other than high vis which is MASSIVE on most people.

shell jackets are only useable in mild cold weathers, to prevent students getting hypothermia a coat with a hood would be more practical

Hivis jackets are massive, I was given the wrong size when I got given mine and they are now really impractical to wear, I ordered the correct size but couldn’t do anything about getting the wrong size

The blue soft shell jackets are not practical for staying warm, and only having one of them means that when being at jobs where it has got messy and you need to take the jacket off we are left with no jacket at all meaning we’re left to be even more cold than we were initially since the jacket doesn’t have a hood and are very thin

Jackets are awful. Not able to keep you dry when it rains or warm when it’s cold. Other students from other universities are given a rain jacket to protect them from the rain but when we have been provide jackets from placement to help keeps us dry we have been told that we could get a Fitness to Practice Referral. Just very confusing when you think about the uniform the ambulance service gives there employees but we are expected to work in the same conditions with just a soft shell jacket.

Not sure why we are still having lessons online? Would be good to have more then one lesson a day as-well and it all to be face to face

One day in uni a week doesn’t feel anywhere near enough. More facilitated lessons and lecturer led would be massively appreciated. This would reduce a lot of anxiety about assessments and qualification. I feel unsupported with the amount of self directed learning and lack of face to face teaching.

The associate lecturers coming in to teach us should have a good understanding of what we have been taught. A lot of conflicting views when it comes to treatment and what we ‘should know’.

We need more in person sessions on pharmacology especially when we are taught something new. Some people are anxious to ask questions online and lecturers can see if we are understanding new topics better face to face.

Need more support for ecg exam as we are having to learn it all ourselves which can be confusing. We should have a session on what an ecg looks like for each type of condition for example left bundle branch block.

Don’t think it’s fair that we’re only in once a week in regards to learning content but also staff don’t know how students are feeling towards certain things.

To provide a better quality jacket as the blue one feel like just a fashion piece instead of something that is going to keep us warm and protected during the winter.

online lessons are hard to focus on, as someone who is neurodivergent and has ADHD online sessions just don’t work for me, especially on topics that are so hard to wrap your head around, if sessions are going to be online they shouldn’t be something as important and confusing as the session we had on monday

Pleaseeeeee we need different jackets, the ones we have are simply not enough to keep you warm on a night shift, it’s incredibly distracting and feels like you can’t do your all because it’s so cold.

The blue jackets are very poor, thin and uncomfortable. Extremely cold in the winter, especially for outside jobs and wearing the high vis jackets in patients houses because we are so cold is not ideal and embarrassing. Preferably a better quality thicker and warmer jacket.

Online sessions are not ideal, it can be nerve racking and difficult to speak up if we don’t understand something discussed. Pharmacology is tough and we would benefit for these sessions to be in person. I understand there are so many hours that need to be online but for me that would make sense for AACIP to be online and not our paramedic studies especially something as important as learning medicine.

The blue shell Jackets just aren’t practical for winter placement, the larger high vis jackets are ok in situations such as RTA’s, however a thinner waterproof jacket with a hood would be much more beneficial, Similar to what the ambulance service provides to Their clinicians.

Once a week doesn’t feel like enough for most of us. A lot of us feel incredibly behind on ALS and pharmacology, we try and do extra stuff if our days off but because we are already feeling behind it’s harder to do so

The self directed is to much, we have one day which is so full on that you can’t even keep up with anything, once you miss one slide on the lecture you’re behind for the rest of the session because there’s no time to even think, I finish the day so exhausted and understanding even less than I did to begin with. Then the sheer amount of work that is self directed but there’s not enough support on, so attending the next lecture they will talk about things that we ‘should’ve done in self directed’ but I have looked and can’t find anything that points you towards that.

Practically I don’t feel ready at all for OSCEs as I understand we need to work in our own time to practice but I don’t feel I actually improve as there’s not enough time each day for us to all perform a senario so you will practice independently but there’s no feed back or way to know if your doing everything correctly to a good standard as there’s not enough guidance.

We get told we will be reported for wearing YAS jackets which I fully understand, but I don’t understand why we aren’t provided with a more suitable coat as especially night shifts on placement it’s not functional to constantly wear your hi-vis and you’ll otherwise be freezing. It makes it impossible to do anything because of shivering in the cold and potentially rain. It just looks unprofessional. It’s not really possible to wear thermals as you’ll go from one job to another then be in a roasting care home. We need a layer that’s actually able to be removed. We were told we could’ve wear our own fleece zipped and not visible under our blue shell jacket either. So it seems any solution come up with is just put down due to uniform rules.

It’s not fair we get given so much pre reading when it’s given to us on the Friday when we are in lectures, have work and weekend commitments and then the lectures it’s due for are on Monday. We need to be given it earlier in the week if you expect us to actually be able to do it.

Please can we be shown how to draw up and administer different drugs as we don’t always get the exposure on placement.

E.g how to draw up different dosages and how to set up a nebuliser

Only having 1 timetabled day a week does not feel like enough at all. Especially with osce's coming up. I know I'm not alone in feeling unprepared, worried, anxious, stressed and unsupported in the run up to these assessments. Fair enough we have to do self directed practice but not having sufficient facilitator led sessions means we are not sure where or when we are going wrong etc.

Would have preferred it to be more similar to CICW in that when we do our presentation it’s in person and recorded by a lecturer, this would have saved a lot of stress and time for everyone as there was lots of confusion about how we could record and upload.

I think it has been helpful having the pharmacology session for certain drugs before the practical session relating to those drugs.

I'm feeling stressed regarding the pharmacology exam being pass or fail and having no bearing on the final module grade. Not everybody manages as well in osce's as others do and some people perform better in exams. So if a student comes out with a mid score in the osce, they're then stuck at a mid score for the module even if they passed the exam with a high score.

This session was fantastic! The way that he explained everything was great and really helped me to understand ECGs a lot better as I previously struggled with these.

This session did not go down so well with some students. Not all students learning best by being made to run around a classroom. This session felt awkward and embarrassing. This should have been an optional session for students to attend if they learn better visually etc.

I really enjoyed david’s pharmacology lecture I think it was really good for visual learners and is actually how I understood a lot of it as the practicality makes much more sense. He was so knowledgeable and happy and helpful answering any questions. I do get for people who don’t learn visually it may not be as helpful but it was great if you actually got involved.

I did like how it was all in person as I really struggle with the online work. However I would’ve preferred presenting in person just as we had quite a lot of difficulty trying to record it online as our group refused to meet in person (which isn’t the modules fault)
