In 1820 the Carboni a revolutionist group and forced the King to reinstitute a constitution. For the next 20 years the different states of Italy would fight for control. Mainly ruled by Austrian's and taking a conservative look on subjects. Led by Count Camillo di Cavour but as time went on many people thought how Italy would look under the control of the Pope. In 1848 both liberal and conservative parties failed at leading Italy. With France's help 1859 Italy was united after defeating the Austrians. It became known as the Grito de Dolores (“Cry of Dolores”). Joined by thousands of Indians and mestizos they fought for independence. So on September 16,1810 Mexico gained independance.
