An election is a vote when people represent their parties from parliament.

Why do we have elections?
We have elections so we can decide who will be in charge of running the country.  It helps everyone get a say.

What happens during an election
Lots of billboards go up for advertising.  Also there are other ads for advertising.  On the days of the election voting booths are set up so people can vote for who they think deserves to win
