Throughout the UWP 001 course, I developed the skills to integrate diverse sources, from academic articles to personal experiences, into clear and persuasive essays. Two assignments that showcase this growth are my research essay on “Social Media and its Effects on Journalism Objectivity” and my literary narrative paper, “A Literary Monumental Moment,” which explores how a book shaped my literary perspective. These projects taught me the importance of strong writing structures and the importance of revisions and feedback. I now understand a good essay requires clarity, organization, and content. By incorporating well-supported evidence and adhering to the course's emphasis on credible sources and proper citation practices, I was able to significantly improve the quality of my work.

Hello my name is Zackary Tarter. I’m a student-athlete at UC Davis, where I play golf for the university's team.I grew up in Grover Beach, California where I developed my skills and love for the game. My experiences on and off the golf course have shaped me into the person I am today, contributing to my percerverice in the classroom. I am currently studying Managerial Economics, but might make the switch to instead study Sociology. As I continue my student career here at UC Davis, my goal is to grow, not only as a golfer, but also as a student. My journey so far has been rewarding and full of new experiences, I’m truly excited to see what my future has in store.
