I don't agree with him burning the flag at all because it represents this country and millions of people have died for his country and its an abomination that someone would do that. I really admire Mr. Smith’s determination to clear his name.  This movie reminded me of the movie called “Double Jeopardy” with Tommy Lee Jones and Ashley Judd. In “Double Jeopardy”, the wife, Libby is tried for killing her “dead” husband because he faked his death and made it seem like she killed him, so that he could get his life insurance and make a lot of money. During this film, Libby is determined to track down her husband and to get revenge on her husband for ruining her life. He had to develop his political views and ideas over the movie, but then transformed into a brilliant politician. In modern times, I think Mr. Smith would be a democrat. I say this because, he wanted to build a national wide boys camp for young american boys all over the country.  Typically, democrats tend to spend more, and building this program would cost some serious dollars. If Mr. Smith continued to serve in our senate, I think he would be a good candidate for the democratic party, he is children-connected and has good ideas that could spread joy around the U.S.

Since Senator Dick Durbin is a democrat and is a senator, I would pair Mr. Smith to him. Along with Mr. Smith, Dick Durbin has similar political stand points as Mr. Smith. Both men care about the children’s future/environment. Mr. Smith wanted to build a national boys camp so they can develop and be with nature.
