Envision hands is a small environmental education program in Werribee, they started of using diffent form of plastic to create mobility aids before commencing the bottle cap collection (HDPE and LDPE plastic). Their first phase in the project was wildly successful as they collected 1,000,000 bottle caps- during phase two however the project seems to experience greater issues.  The Envision team worked hard to create a quality assured product for several months, before having to cease the project. The children´s mobility aid created from HDPE and LDPE plastic never reached internal quality standards.

Its still to this day not enough to make a significant difference in discarded plastic waste, as it still reaches the sea. The next 10 years will result in 22 million tons of waste, but the good news is without the pledges of thousands of ambitious commitments done by government and industries it would have been double.  
 
By spreading awareness commitments of larger groups of people will form, and again expand. My Event would focus on the environmental factor of spreading hope, and stating that by everyone doing their part we can save the world.

Children who struggle with chronic illnesses and disabilities are at a higher risk of depression than regular kids. There is many reasons for this like feeling different, worsening of their condition, bullying everyday struggles and just the general feeling of being different. As they get older and reach teenagers it could worsen without proper help. Kieran is a young boy born with Amniotic Band Syndrome, and because of this he has no fingers on his right arm. He experiences a lot of bullying because of his condition, only wanting to be a normal kid being part of a team and having friends- the condition limits him to an extent to where it effects his life quality. 
 
Modern prosthetics are very expensive and can be up to ten of thousands of dollars, and kids growing constantly would need to have new ones made often. Therefor most kids will grow up only having the devices as impossible dreams.

Since starting in 2013 they have facilitated the production of over 1,000 prosthetic hands. They have 5,400 contributing members and set a goal in 2015 to provide 6,000 people prostheses by 2017. The kit itself will provide a set of activities with the proper background information, and the goal in mind is for children to better their understanding the paralympic sport- honoring the fact that people are built different, and disabilities don’t necessarily need to hold someone back. All this in a safe, familiar and playful environment.
 
Awareness around disabilities is something easily included in the school’s set curriculum, and by including it throughout the year and encourage teachers to participate- schools worldwide will foster an awareness and positive attitude towards students experiencing impairments.

Results from the sessions shows value in the mission to increase awareness, and the athletes wants to be involved as it is a free session. 
 
The athletes show their medals and other things they want to share before answering questions. After a session with Tyan Taylor a child expressed that Tyans´s vision impairment doesn’t make her different than them, and by that being a symbol of the project working.

The principal of Holy cross, Paul Drewniak, supported the growing interest by offering a pizza party prize to the class that collected the most bottle tops. 
 
Several of the kids shared their enthusiasm of winning the pizza party, and with the help of their parents went to different locations in their local area collecting bottle caps that surely would end up at landfills. Through their Hands project seeking children to help collect the bottle tops, children with little or no access to medical facilities will now have an opportunity to get prosthetics.

The new mutant bacteria enzyme discovered by the French company Carbios is planned to reach industrial scale recycling capability by 2025. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is the common petroleum that plastic bottles and soft drink bottles are made of. In nature it would take up to 1,000 years to decompose the plastic, however with the new enzyme 90% would be deconstructed in less than 10 hours.

The caps get shredded and converted into filaments that they feed into a 3D printer, and again create prosthetic hands and fingers. The school kids were involved in every step, and enjoyed learning about the technology used. 
Building a greater understanding amongst kinds, in which they celebrate and understand technology rather then avoid them.

It requires good financial skills and planning to confidently undergo these kinds of events, and to keep focus on the engagement. Every decision needs to evaluated in a responsible way, and challenges are different than what a regular profitable event would experience. 
 
Having planed partners beforehand with similar organizations like inviting paralympic athletes, paralympic school day, Envision and e-NABLE who share similar goals will strengthen the event.

Influencers who create a big following on their platforms receive a big responsibility, as their actions and words impact those who follow them. Different branches of influencers promote causes that are important for them, and one example of that is disability rights influencers. People with different disabilities normalizing their condition, and at the same time gives hope to those in similar situations.
