It's funny because, every time I reach a new goal in my life... around the same time I get a phone call from prison. Or I am taken to the prison to visit. I wonder if it is the universe's way of telling me "Hey, don't you ever forget what could have been." and to be grateful to live in the free world despite incarnation being shoved down our throats when we mess up.

Now you know me better… don’t blame people in impoverished areas for not liking white people, authority, modern day colonialism and so much more. My “prejudice” is ancestral warnings. 

I always wondered why it stung like a bitch to see a cop, to walk into state penitentiary, to be in trouble. Thank you to the brown trans people that taught me fast what would happen if I acted out. How we are penalized at another level. I have dealt with being policed my entire life. Unfortunately, it even has happened in professional settings. They love to keep their eyes on me. When it happens I am quick to leave because I know it pains me to be mistreated and I know what will happen when I act up. I know what will happen to me once I am dealt with a "punishment" and the way the authority will go about it. I am tired for being penalized for being expressive, for being trans and for being brown.

Dear Ancestors, I wish I had known you a bit better. I wonder if hating all authority comes with having a line of people who resisted so much for so long.
