Thomas at 12 stopped school. At the age of 19  decide to go to the sea. The trip did not last that long, he became a tax officer in England. He got discharged  from his spot 2 times in 4 years.  Then out of  no wear he became very  well known. In 1776 he got "common sense"  published.  He joined the Continental army  but was not very good.  He made the "the american crisis", this gave the army a lot of hope. When the year turned 1791 he started working on "The Rights of men". In 1792  it got published. The work that he did made him become an outlaw in England for his anti-monarchist looks on things. He more then likely would have been arrested if he had not moved to France. In France he decided to join the National Convention. In 1794 he went to jail for not meeting the things he said he would do to Louis XVl.  When he was in jail he wrote one of his most famous work called"The age of Reason"  In 1794 he was freed by James Monroe. When it was  1802  He got a letter from Thomas Jefferson asking hem to come to the U.S.A.  Paine found out that all of his contributions to the American Revolution  was  all lost because of his religious thoughts. Sadly he died on june, 8 1809. I think he influenced the u.s.a. I don't thick he was a very good influence for the u.s cause he got in jail and he bodge from getting in to jail again. Also all of his contributions to the american revolution was lost so, that makes my feel like he did something wrong. But he did write a lot of stuff that was very good.
