In my opinion, I think that Via (Olivia) is a good sister to Auggie. She truly cares about him and his safety. I think Via is just nervous for him to go to a public school just like everyone else.

If I were to talk to Via I would say how much I appreciate her trying to protect her little brother, but sometimes Via you just have to let them bloom like a flower.

I choose binoculars as a symbol for Via because she is over-protective when it comes to her little brother August. Via doesn't necessarily watch over him, but she protects him when other people say things.

In my opinion, I think that August is personally ready for school and deep down inside he was excited to start. August just had a hard time showing it; he is a very smart, sweet, good, kind, good sport, strong and self-confident.

If I were to to talk to Auggie I would say of how good a sport he has been through-out this whole new transition. I would also tell him to think about how it was hard for everyone and not just him; so he wouldn't be so hard on himself.

I choose a flower blooming as a symbol for Auggie because he transitions into something different, but it's in a good way. Once, I have read on I noticed that he doesn't want to be treated like a baby anymore; he starts transitioning on his own.

In my opinion, I think that Mr. Tushman is a good person in all, but I disagree with his idea to make the other kids give August a tour of the school.

If I were to talk to Mr. Tushman in person I would tell him he put the kids In an awkward position even before the school had even started. I would also say to him that he can probably handle the touring himself and let the kids learn kindness on their own.

I choose two hands reaching for each other because it seemed like Mr. Tushman need a helping hand in all of this like he couldn't do it by himself.

In my opinion, I think what Summer did was an awesome thing. She was taking a risk and went out of her way to talk to August when no one had asked her to.

If I were to talk to Summer in person i would say that her talking to August was a big thing to do even though she probably knew she was going to lose her other "popular" friends. Also, i would say to her try to talk to the other students to show them how to be a leader and not a follower.

I choose this as a symbol for Summer because of course her namer is right in bold letters. I choose the big letters because i feel she was the first person to go and talk to Auggie. Also, the smiling sun behind her name is the way Summer is in the book; she is always happy and smiling when it comes to her talking or when she is with Auggie.

In my opinion, I'm not sure why Julian didn't want to be friends with Auggie or why he was so mean to him. But, I'm pretty sure he had some other issues just just piled up on top of that.  

If I were to talk to Julian in person I would ask him why has he been so mean to Auggie when Auggie didn't do anything to him. Auggie can't help it that he was born like that. I mean everyone has some kind of flaw whether you notice it or someone else does. Lastly, I would tell him to at least say sorry to Auggie and try to be nice and hang out with him, but if he doesn't want to after that, then that's fine. Julian needs to at least try to be kind to him because Auggie is a victim in this situation and he doesn't deserve to be treated like that; no one does.

I choose this as a symbol for Julian because the bully doesn't actually hit him, but it's like if he is threatening him. In this book Julian verbally abuses Auggie. Also, i choose the one with the "no sign" in front of it because bullying is a bad choice to choose. I also choose the second picture because in the Julian chapter he explain that he is afraid of Auggie Pullman but he hasn't admitted it yet. But, Julian started to have nightmares so i think this picture will represent as a symbol for him being afraid of Auggie and having nightmares.

In my opinion, I think Miranda has a good heart I think it was a big thing she did when she called to check on Auggie. Auggie was soooo happy to hear her voice, and Miranda was happy to talk to him. Miranda truly cares about their family and she feels happy and comfortable around them.

If I were to talk to her in person I would ask her if her mother's divorce with her dad is the reason that she changed her whole look, because not ONLY her mom, but i think Miranda was going through a phase to after that happened. My advice i would give her is that everyone goes through something in life and I know it was a rough time for you, but we all get through it.

I choose this as a symbol because I feel that Miranda opened up her heart to Via's family. And this picture has two hands that are open with a heart in the middle and that's Miranda opening her up up to Auggie, Via, Isabel, and Nate. Miranda is a very caring, sweet, and wonderful girl and a great friend towards Via and Auggie. Also, she has respect for their parents to, and she thinks of them as her own family because she feels more comfortable around them rather than her own family.

In my opinion, I think Jack is a wonderful friend he just was shocked he didn't know he was going to help out August Pullman from when he was little.

If I were to talk to Jack in person I would just talk to him about how it feels to be the only kid who knew about August Pullman. Also, I would ask him if he was just trying to fit in with his friends when they were talking about "bleeding scream" because it seemed like he wanted to be his friend but Jack's other friends didn't like him. So, think the only reason Jack said that was so he could fit in.  

I choose this as a symbol because I feel that he was trying to fit with his friends. I think Jack is emotional an outsider, but physically he is with them in their group of friends.
