Being out in nature has taught me a lot of things and has also made me realize the importance of discovering new places and activities. The reason I can say I love being in nature has to be thanks to my grandpa. Since I was a little kid I can remember that my grandpa would always take me outside and we would sit down and watch the birds pass by. Or even just talk about life. My grandpa told me a lot of stories about Mexico, mostly the countryside. He would tell me about growing crops, horses, and to live happy. When I got the opportunity to go visit Mexico, I was in love. I was in love with the way how the landscape of different ranch looked like. In this image, I took this past summer where me and my whole family decided to have a picnic in one of my uncle's lands. I remember this day as if it was yesterday, we all went to cut corn from the crops, we made a BBQ and just admire life. Honestly, I can wait to learn how to ride a horse and build a home of my in the countryside just like my grandpa. Analysis: To be honest in my opinion I think that it start off well. I like how it starts with Chris giving himself a new name Alex. And how he starts as a normal hitchhiker trying to find a something that is far from him to reach.

Where excitement(pg.15) begins in a new destination for Chris's life. Chris fell in love with this new town of Carthage and admires the small town. As Chris stays here in Carthage he manages to become a worker(pg.17). There he met Westerberg and became very good friends with him. Afterwards we get to learn a little bit of Chris personal life. Like how he comes from wealthy parents. Like his dad is an eminent aerospace engineer and later made a business. Chris went to college(pg.20)which later graduated and donate all his money to OXFAM America a charity and then this was the last(pg.22) time he saw his parents. The last thing that Chris left his parents was a note (pg.21) which had his final copy of his transcript and just wrote a hi and a thank you to his parents about the card they send him.

Analysis: Reading chapter 3, has shown how Chris really feels about his life and the decisions he has made. So at the beginning I like how he expresses the way he feel about living in Carthage and meeting Westerberg. And sharing a friendship. But towards the end of this chapter it talked about the real Chris, and how he grew in a wealthy family and it helped us understand the reason why he decided to disappear from his family.

But then one day some ranger(pg.28) discover the car of Chris thinking that the car could have drug(pg.27). Before the rangers found Chris car there was this rain(pg.28) storm and flooded everything. But the rangers decided to use the car as to investigate people. Then he met some people that were going up to Oregon where they describe that he was picking up berries(pg.30).

Analysis: After reading chapter 4 of this story, I was shocked that Chris decided to abandon his car in the middle of the desert. Another thing that shocked me was that he burn his social security and money and other important documents that were related to his identity. But at the same it seem like something different and something easy if you want to start a new life. But at least the car that Chris used to have was thrown away but was used for a good cause that Chris doesn't really like.

Then he saw the couple he met when going up to Oregon Jan and Bob. Jan decided to talk(pg.44) to Chris about his family but as always Chris runs away. At the end Chris decided to leave and head to the North so Jan decided to give Chris some gifts including some knives(pg.46) for his survival but Chris left and so did he leave the items in the back of Jan cars.

Analysis: It amazes me that Chris used to live in Bullhead City and even worked in a nearby McDonald's in that town. I been to Bullhead City a couple of times in my life and let me tell you it is very beautiful. But is sometimes too hot to be there. But as always Chris leaves everything that people give him. I feel that Chris doesn't understand the meaning of helping and supporting others.

Then one day Chris decide to go back to Idaho and Franza takes him to Coloradro where he got a video camera(pg.54) and films where Chris and him were enjoying fun moments.

Analysis: In this chapter I felt that it was so sad that Chris didn't want to be part of Franz family life. And then the letter that he wrote to Franz made me realize that he is a selfish person and that he doesn't care about others people feelings and just only cares that he run away from his family and make a live he always wanted. Maybe if he was part of Franz life it would been different for him.

Analysis: After reading chapter 9, I got to know that their has been in the past people just like Chris. I feel that people like Chris never get what is their limit until there are in there destination is there. I don't get why people like Chris have a hard time getting along with people for a while and then they runaway. But overall, I think this chapter helped me understand that Chris wasn't the only one who did this but many people have like in chapter 8.

One thing they could find to know who the guy was they roll out the film(pg.99) to see if it was Chris. Another thing is that they try to find out it was Chris there were false(pg.100) information along the way. Lastly, after getting more information they went to the phonebook(pg.101) where they found somewhere who was related to Chris which was Sam. Then Sam went to Fairbank to make sure it was Chris body and he confirmed that it was and now he had to fly to Maryland to tell his parents that Chris is dead(pg.102).

Analysis: Although chapter 10 is short, we got to understand that when they first discover the death of Chris it was still unknown who the body was. It had taught me that the technology back then to investigate missing people and doing autopsy was so different from today. But it was kind of sad to know that some of the investigator didn't believe in some of the people who called for information of knowing who the body of the young men was. But at the end of the chapter it was sad when Sam had to tell Chris parents that Chris was found dead in Alaska.

Analysis: I never knew that this would be Chris. Chris was different from any other rich kid. He was embressed by his parents money. Analysis: After reading chapter 12, I can finally understand why Chris decided to distance himself from his family but at the same time who shouldn't of acted this way to some people. Like his mother and sister, who were also part of his father betrayal. He should of found some comfort or support within his sister mostly since they were very close with each other.

Analysis: After reading chapter 13, I learned that everything changed for Carine and her family. She notice that she kept working and making a business just like her parents. But Carine misses and still loves her brother and it still somewhat hurts knowing he is no longer here with her. But we also got to learn something interesting about Buck there family dog that Chris loved so much. That Chris was planning to take Buck with him on his adventure. To be honest if Chris took Buck with him then things would of been different and Chris wouldn't of died.

Basically Jon's father wanted him to excel(pg.148) and meet his expectations of Jon to be a doctor and go to Harvard. But then later on Jon Father name Lewis had pain(pg.149) and became a drug addicted. He even tried to commit suicide(pg.149) in front of his children's. But at the end in his last attempt to climb Devil Thumb he actually achieve(pg.152) his goal of reaching to the top and feeling great about himself.

Analysis: After reading chapter 15, I got to understand why the author Jon Krakauer decided to write Chris. Because they both share similar things in life. Like not having a very good relationship with their fathers and makes them distance from there family. Another thing is that they both have that desire to have an adventure and feel that freedom of being men.

But then after being in a long time in the wild, Chris realized he wanted to go back to civilization(pg.168) but there was a problem that he had to risk(pg.170).

Analysis: After reading this chapter, I got to understand that Chris didn't want to call his parent for the last time. But at the same time it taught Chris difficult challenges in the wild. Like when it came to hunting and he realized he wanted to come back home. But sometimes things don't go as planned and Chris found a problem that the river water was too deep.

Analysis: After reading Chapter 17, I can agree with the author and his friends because Chris could of kept a map for an in case something like this could happen. But Chris was old school and wanted to be lead away from what the wild could surprise him for. And the part where they accused him of breaking into the cabins wasn't Chris since he didn't have a map plus he could of have food and wouldn't die.

The second thing that kills Chris is this wild potato(pg.190) plant since there is a poisionous(pg.191) part. The last(pg.199) thing was people said that Chris didn't learn anything to survive and that Chris shouldn't gone to the wild, and that he should first learned the basic to survive. 


Analysis: After reading the last chapter of the book we got to learn that two most important things that killed Chris were two different plant seeds that Chris didn't learn how to eat properly. And many people said that Chris didn't know anything about surviving in the wild. But I feel that people are kind of right that Chris didn't know how to survive in the wild and should of learn more. But at the same time he had the curious and still went for it.

Analysis: After reading this chapter of the story, we get to learn more of a year later that Chris parents are hurt by the surprise death of Chris. When they visited the place Chris's parents could understand how lovely and beautiful the place was and the reason why Chris wanted to come here in the first place. But they both know nothing can be fixed and that there is pain that is never going to leave them alone in there lives.

After researching and finding out what the seeds contain it was a indeed truth that it contain some lethal(p.5) in the potato plant seeds. But what Chris didn't know is that he couldn't eat the seeds but some how some people believe that if Chris knew then he would of survived(p.17)

Analysis: After reading the Afterword of Into the Wild I got to learn that Jon took his time to really be positive that the potato plant contain some poisions. Plus this helped other who also want to go to the wild that to be careful of these seeds since they contain some lethal that can cause death.

Ever since I was a little kid I can remember that I always wanted to travel the world and see what was out there. And when I mean to get out there is to get out of my hometown and see what opportunities are out there waiting for me. I always wanted to meet new people from different background and culture. It just seems interesting to me that many people out there in the world share many similar stories and others different stories which helps me learn for the better about life. Along the way while traveling I would like to learn new things, like for example to cook, how to do artisan work, or even learn a new language. 

By far, I visited some place not all over the world but I visited Las Vegas, Palm Springs,  and some places in Mexico. But I am planning this summer to travel to Mexico and make family trips to go to the beaches in Mexico, visit famous temples or churches, and do fun and amazing activities. But overall, I would like to visit to different countries in Asia then go to Europe and lastly all over South America. But first I am going to college but at the same time I am going to work and save up for every summer I can go an travel around the world. But also meet new people along the way and maybe they can help travel to their country.

I have many dislike and likes about Chris McCandless. But first I want to talk about the positive side of Chris and why I can agree with what he did. 

What Chris did leaving or disappearing from his family was hard but at the same time if you think about it some times you can't even depend on your own family. From personal experiences, family some times are just problems and once you are involved in, it brings down the family making them break up and going on their own way. And I understand that Chris's father was cheating with both sides of the family and for Chris it was to much, since he could of saw his dad as an inspiration to his life. And discovering out of the blues and telling to keeping it a secret from other people he loves could be hard. Another thing that amazes me that Chris did was following his goals/dreams. Not a lot of people have the courage to from their dreams/goals. Many are too scare or just don't believe they can do it. But Chris really proof that as long as you believe and have a passion about you goals/dreams then you can achieve it. Like in this example, Chris wanted to go to the wild in Alaska. Another thing that I admire from Chris is that money wasn't important to him and that he liked to helped others. There was chapter in the book that talked about how Chris would go to a bad, poor town and he would buy food and give them out to people who needed it. But that was some of the thing that Chris did on his time. Another was before starting his adventure to Alaska he donated his college fund money to OXFAM which helps give people food. And when he abandoned his car and burned money, ID, and personal items made me realized that he wasn't joking about starting a new life in the wild.

 I think the only thing I dislike about is how he never said a goodbye to his family before entering Alaska or how he didn't take a map with him in his Alaska trail. I feel that he should of called his parents as the last guy who dropped Chris into this wild Alaska trip named Gaylord Stuckey. Because you will never know when it can be your last day on earth. Overall, I can agree that Chris lived his life as he wanted. And I feel that people should see that, that no matter if you are too scare, don' have the money, or just making excuses then at least learn and live your life. Just like Chris cause you will never know what will happen it could make you feel something good.
