I learned that conditionals make arguments stronger because they show clear cause and effect. They help me explain not only what is true, but also what could happen or what might have happened. By using “if…then” sentences, I can imagine different situations and argue more clearly for or against an idea.

2. Which conditional did you use, and why?

I used the Second Conditional because I wanted to talk about an unreal situation in the present. For example, “If students were well-rested, they would perform better in class.” This is not the reality now, but it shows what could happen if things were different.
