I picked this poem because it reminds me of when I talked to myself in the mirror. Most of the time I would start talking to myself which was kind or silly.

I think the poet titled this poem I Love Me most likely because this poem is mainly about the poet liking their self.

I Stayed Home From School Today By Kenn Nesbitt

I like this poem because it reminds me of when I pretended to be sick so I would not go to school. I pretended to be sick because I had a test and I did not want to do the test.

I think the author wrote this poem maybe because he knows that kids don't like school. Kids are not the only ones who don't like school. Some teachers don't like school too. I think that the teacher in this poem might be tired of her students, so she's pretending to be sick.

Nicknames By Kenn Nesbitt

I like this poem because the poet reminds me of a new boy that was in my first grade class. My first grade teacher, Mrs. Bartasis, would always forget his name. So she would call him random names. For example, she would call him Dave. She didn't only call him Dave. She gave him so many names that I can't keep track of. He would always remind her that his name is Jake.

In this poem I think that the poet feels upset because I think that he doesn't like the names that his family and friends call him. I'm pretty sure that Fred felt really frustrated like how Jake was.

This poem reminds me of a day dream I had in the middle of class. For example, in my head thought about how it would be without homework. I only had to wash the dishes and go to bed. Also, I imagined how it would be if we had only recess. That would be fun. Then I realized that we won't learn anything.

The theme of this poem is that most kids don't like school, and all they want to do is to have free time. But in school there is always a time to play, and a time to work.
