         <description><![CDATA[<div>This trial looked at the difference outcomes of care in a consultant-led unit (CLU) compared to a midwifery-led unit (MLU) in the Republic of Ireland.<br><br>Some of the significant results we found were;</div><ul><li>Initiation of Breastfeeding in the CLU - 57% vs. MLU - 55%</li><li>Postpartum Haemorrhage Incidence in the CLU - 13.6% vs. MLU - 13.1% </li><li>- C-Section rates in the CLU - 15.2% vs. 14.8% in the MLU</li><li>Length of labour shorter on CLU</li><li>Less pregnancy complications on CLU</li><li>More with an intact perineum on CLU</li><li>Almost identical percentage of neonates needing resus on CLU and MLU</li></ul><div>Begley, C., Devane, D., Clarke, M., McCann, C., Hughes, P., Reilly, M., et al.
