Choosing my song

I am performing Crazy by Gnarls Barkley. The original song is a pop song however I am going to do a vocal cover it as an RnB version. I am going to do that through changing instrumentation and creating a slower tempo. I plan on removing all instruments except for percussion, keyboard and electric guitar. I chose this song because i feel the song has a completely different message when slowed down and almost has more of a sinister touch. I was inspired by the slowed down version by the same group who created the original, Gnarls Barkley.

For my group, I need:
- A pianist/keyboard player
- A drummer
and
-A electric guitar player

I chose these instruments because they're simple but can be modified to sound different. For example, instead of using common piano chords altogether, broken chords can be used to give a sense of eeriness and darkness as that is the aim of my end piece.

Another reason I chose these instruments is that they are ones that are commonly found in RnB, Pop and Jazz music. I wanted this to contrast with the differentiation in which it is played, as stated above.

Some of the sectors needed in order to make our performances a success is:
-Tech
-Management
-Staging/ Directors
-Marketing

In our groups we need to decipher who does what individually in order for the process to be smooth and efficiently. For example, in the Management team; jobs such as Front of House, crowd control and decoration are jobs that can be handled by one or two people rather than handing out jobs randomly. In our class, we decided by finding out who was good at what. For example, I enjoy art and interior design thus, i was assigned decor. Shannon is an informative person and a natural leader so she was assigned front of house.
