For the first 10-15 minutes of each double period this term, I want to get us reading about some current events and see how they are being discussed persuasively.

After 10 minutes or so, I'll ask us to make a short post on the Padlet page, describing the story and how it is being discussed. In your post, share a bit about the tone of the piece, or how the author is trying to persuade.
