         <description><![CDATA[<div>Instructions:&nbsp;<br>Start in San Diego - travel anywhere from there!&nbsp;</div><div><br>Different locations = different apps&nbsp;</div><div>Each location has a link to the website &amp; a brief explanation of how to use the app. &nbsp;</div><div><br><strong>10 mins for each group to:</strong><br>- look through all the locations<br>- create something in one of the apps&nbsp;</div><ul><li>every app needs to be represented&nbsp;</li><li>No repeats - try to do something you don't think another group will do</li><li>Try to make it something you could use in one of your SI sessions (set it up as you would for students - i.e. assume we don’t know anything about the app!)&nbsp;<ul><li>Instructions, theme, example? …what else would the students need?&nbsp;</li></ul></li></ul><div><strong>2-3 mins for each group to:</strong><br>-&nbsp; present your creation back to the large group (make it relevant to each of your subjects!)<br><br>Add the links to your game/app presentation to the relevant location! <br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

It allows you to virtually (google sheets) play games that are usually done on paper or by hand. &nbsp;<br><br>How to use Flippity:<br>Pick a game - create a copy of the template &amp; edit it to your liking- publish the template - get the link&nbsp;<br><br>Possible activities: bingo, hangman, timeline/ order or steps to solve a problem, mix &amp; match, crossword puzzle, matching games, jeopardy&nbsp;<br><br>Chem - matching - polyatomic ions&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Mentimeter<br><a href="https://www.mentimeter.com/">Interactive presentation software </a>- you will need to create a free account and log in&nbsp;</div><div><br>- students will go to <a href="https://www.menti.com/">Join a presentation (menti.com)</a> and then type in the code to see your presentation</div><div><br>Types of presentations:<br>scales, multiple-choice, word cloud, ranking, open-ended questions, quizzes...<br>There are examples in Mentimeter of each of the presentations!&nbsp;<br><br>&nbsp;If you present on this app, what are some of its uses and features that could be helpful in an SI session?&nbsp;<br>- Eg 1: you could use the scales or the ranking presentation as a survey of how students are feeling for an exam.&nbsp;<br>- Eg 2: you could use the ranking presentation to get students to put steps in order...<br>- Eg 3: profanity filter in settings&nbsp;<br><br><br>Well done for reading to the bottom!&nbsp;<br>Fun Fact: this is my home town!&nbsp;<br><br><br>Very Versatile Program; can be used for many subjects and activities, but there is a paywall</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
