* How does this relate to Citizenship?
   This relates to citizenship in a number of different ways.  Firstly it shows the connection and loyalty to New Zealand and other New Zealanders as it was of interest to New Zealanders as a whole when one of our citizens was in danger or threatened.  To some extent it was also reported in order to provide protection for other New Zealand citizens who will be traveling to Rio for the Olympics.

* Learning activity for children
   The best way to create a learning activity for children connected to this article is to introduce the topic of the Olympics and our sports people and citizens who will be travelling to support them.  We could create our own mini Olympic games at the centre and discuss how we know when New Zealand sports people are participating.  How do you know that that person is a New Zealand sports person?
