The theme is perseverance because

Lina and Doon never give up to find a way out.

Lina - She needed to pt the instructions together

and she never gave up .

Doon - He wanted to be brave and he wanted the city to

see him as a hero and he kept on trying to find a way out.

I think the theme is greed because the mayor and a few others concealed the fact that there was a moderate amount of supplies. The greed was consuming them and the more they got the more they wanted.
