With this message the question arises what do we tell the aliens about ourselves? Should we be honest about the bad parts of our history and society or should we avoid that subject until later on? I think that we should be upfront about our history and society but maybe not use the bad parts of our history as an opening line.

The island is seeing a raise in water levels at approximately one to two feet by the year 2100. This may not seem like much but the island currently only stands at three feet above sea level. Frequent rains and high tides are constantly washing out the roadways creating hazardous conditions for the residents. While the residents are convinced they can save the island scientists say that it is to late. Climate change is constantly being debated in our country and we have an obligation to consider its consequences so that we may prevent Deal Island from happening to other places across our coastline.
