         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Pilbara Strike was an important event in Australian civil rights history, during 1946 and 1949, and was the the longest industrial action in Australian history. The Western Australian Aboriginal pastoral workers'&nbsp;strike, was&nbsp;for better&nbsp;pay and better&nbsp;working conditions. Under difficult circumstances and strong opposition, more than 800 employees took a&nbsp;leave&nbsp;their jobs for the strike.&nbsp;The&nbsp;protest brought attention to the injustices and abuses that Indigenous Australians faced. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955-1956 was important to the American Civil Rights Movement. African Americans in Montgomery boycotted public transportation for more than a year after the detention of Rosa Parks for refusing to give up her seat to a white passenger. Showed nonviolent protest was a good way of protesting rather than violent protest. In the end, the boycott resulted in a win against racial segregation when the Supreme Court decided that bus segregation was illegal.</p>]]></description>
