Through this survey I was able to understand a better understanding of what my target audience wanted to see in a psychological trailer and the conventions which they would expect to see in our trailer. I strongly believe that the feedback we recieved was significant in our creation of our trailer since it allowed us to know what we should include in order to make our media product more suitable for our target audience. The results directly impacted our final product because it made our protagonist a young, female teenager so she is a character our target audience of teenagers and young adults can relate to. Furthermore, the majority of our target audience is teenagers around the age of sixteen which resulted in the BBFC rating of our trailer being a 15. Also, by asking our audience what their favourite genre was we found out that psychological was very popular which made us change our genre from crime thriller to psychological thriller. This allowed us to make our film trailer conventional for the audience by using enigma codes, mysterious music and dark lighting.

What is your age?
What is your favourite genre?
What type of conventions would you like to see in our trailer?
How much money would you typically spend at the cinemas?
All of these questions helped us narrow down what we needed to include on our trailer to make it better.

The feedback given by our peers allowed us to see what we needed to improve in order to improve. When we had first initially done our film pitch, we got two members of the class to look over our film pitch and give us criticism. We gained mostly positive feedback, though was told our plot was too sterotypical and that the genre of our trailer should be changed to fit the narrative. Narrative is very important in film trailers since it needed to be conventional for the audience to understand the genre of the trailer. For this I uploaded my six drafts onto one padlet where they could reflect on what I have done and allow me to know which one was the best. I felt that my designs were very good, since my peers told me that my drafts were very conventional which made me happy knowing that it looked professional. For example in our trailer we got feedback of changing our taglines so they weren't too conventional and having fast paced editing to add pace to our trailer and add enigma since the music was speeding up but the shots weren't, so we made the shots more fast paced to show how the scenes were going quicker as the music sped up. Another important feedback I got was for my ancillary products, how my poster was good but I needed to change the font a bit to make it look more conventional.
Also my magazine got a lot of feedback, since I learnt how my magazine was full of tag lines which distracted the audience from the main image and how I didn't need many tag lines. So I cut down most of the tag lines so the audience could focus on the main image. Another feedback for the magazine was how I had forgotten to write the film name on the magazine, which I quickly corrected by adding it in since magazine film cover always had the films name. Also, I worked on the font, colour and size of the masthead to make it even better, the taglines to make it look even more conventional. I found out how the masthead should be very bold and clear on the magazine since it would be the first thing the reader would see. I changed the magazine name to the colour red because I learnt how three colour rule which is that in magazines it primarily uses three colours which is red, black and white.
