Energy drinks have various effects on the body, primarily due to their high caffeine content and other stimulants.

Caffeine Content: Most energy drinks contain significant amounts of caffeine, ranging from 70 to 300 milligrams per serving. This high caffeine content can lead to improved alertness and concentration but also poses risks like nervousness, insomnia, irritability, and, in extreme cases, and heart palpitations

Sugar Content: Many energy drinks are also high in added sugars, which can contribute to obesity and diabetes

Additional Stimulants: Energy drinks often include other stimulants like guarana, taurine, and ginseng. These can have compounding effects with caffeine, potentially leading to heightened cardiovascular risks, including increased blood pressure and irregular heart rhythms

Mixing with Alcohol: Combining energy drinks with alcohol is particularly dangerous. The stimulatory effects of caffeine can mask the depressant effects of alcohol, leading to increased alcohol consumption and a higher risk of alcohol-related problems.

Heart Health: Regular consumption of energy drinks has been linked to heart-related issues such as hypertension and potential heart failure due to the stimulants causing hyperstimulation of the heart.
