 Evidence that stand-your-ground laws may increase homicide rates is moderate, and evidence that such laws may increase firearm homicides is limited. Evidence for the effect of stand-your ground laws on other types of violent crime is inconclusive.

If it was almost anyone else, the news would hardly report about it. Why is this justified based on race and not the perspective of the person that killed the "victim" in self-defense.

the stand your ground law is a law allowing people to defend themselves in situations where they feel threatened. This allows people to take measure into their own hands gives them the power to defend themselves even to the extent of killing. 33 States have the stand your ground law. Florida by far has the most cases for the stand your ground law, especially the huge controversy between two Floridian men arguing over a parking spot where a man shot the other.
