A black duck whose frenzied situations and ravenous psyche lead him into an endless series of tragic events that cause overall laughter. His ego makes people viewing the cartoon think that Daffy is delusional what he strives to achieve, but in the end he is just a misunderstood duck. Making him one of the most hysterical cartoon characters ever created. Daffy directly relates to Emerson's essay when he states, "to be great is to be misunderstood".

Edison was misunderstood in his time because it was a time of religion where everyone believed God presented them with everything. Therefore making the society look at inventors as people trying to defy the existence of God, but that is just not the case. When Edison invented the light bulb he started to be more respected, yet the people still though he was trying to ridicule the reality of God.

Emerson's use of appeals

Logos-
Quote:"Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of our own mind."
Explanation: Emerson uses logos throughout his essay mostly on the first line of a paragraph to draw the reader in. He uses logos in the quote above to tell his audience that no matter what your mind is the most important thing, and nothing else can truly compare to that.

Ethos-
Quote:"Bravely let him speak the utmost syllable of his confession."
Explanation: Emerson uses ethos to make the reader realize their ethics as he draws closer to his main point. In the quote above Emerson explains that in our own American culture we have ethics all through society. One of them being a confession when one does something wrong, and repent for their crimes.

Pathos-
Quote:"Society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of every one of its members."
Explanation: Emerson uses pathos to mentally relate to his audience. In the quote he explains that you must work for what you want accomplished, because society has it pinned against you. If you really want to achieve something you must do it with all of your effort to overcome the pressure of society
