This book is transformative because it represents cultural diversity. The book showed many different cultures. Within each different culture, the house hold ate rice. Rice was a symbol that related them all to one another. Although they may have ate it differently, cooked it differently and looked different they still ate rice. We see Heather feel a little left out when she realizes she has two moms and no dad in her household. She ends up leaving the prince because he is not who she thought he was. 

This book is transformative because it represents sexism. The roles are switched in this book to show women can do things men can do. Which is why the princess is saving the prince instead of the prince saving the princess. Once the prince is saved, he refuses to be with the princess until she is dress very pretty.
