Sabah has always been in my travel list since I've never been there. Luckily, I got to go there during last semester break. One of the places I went in Sabah was Kota Kinabalu Wetland. The ticket fee was RM5 for adults, however I've gotten a RM2 discount since I am a student ;)

The attractions there were the mangrove forest and the path along the mangrove. I was excited to walk along the path because the beautiful pictures shown online really attracted me. The distances for me to walk were 3km back and forth. The path distances could have been shorter by walking through the shortcut to go back to the starting point. However, I decided not to walk there because the path was muddy. It could have been fun to be immersed in the mud if I'd prepare some spare clothes.

I have also rented a binocular from the staffs with hopes to see the birds. They told me that the birds might be sleeping since it was at noon. They did turn out to be sleeping. Even so, I got to see three birds in a short time. Malay people say "Boleh la daripada takde". The bird species displayed at the information boards there were mind-blowing as I have never even heard some of them. 

Out of the blue, the rain poured in the mid of walking. It was an enjoyable moment to walk in the rain even though my clothes had some patterns on it. I just kept walking until I arrived at the bird tower. My curiosity made me wanted to climb up the tower to see the whole forest from a high view. Unfortunately, I had to forget my intention since the rain was getting heavier.

Tired of walking, I stopped by the huts to rest for a while and drank the water that was given for free by the staffs. There were a lot of huts at intervals of several meters for the visitors to rest and as shelters from the rain. When I was about to walk away from there, I saw a monkey. Thought there were only birds there. The monkey gave me a deep stare. Hence, I gave him mine too and said goodbye.

The best part of it is that there were no people at all when I went there. That is because it was Wednesday. It would be packed of school students if it was the weekend. The experience was unforgettable to be at the mangrove forest. I would definitely come again with spare clothes and shoes to walk in the mud!

Our trip start with finding a place to lay the mat . Actually this is the most exciting part as we tried to get as higher as possible as the water was more clean and refreshing , we had to step on a big rock every time we get higher , so to anyone who plan to go there , please be extra careful and take note about your safety.

The trip continue with eating and swimming , the water there was so cold and deep but i just swim at the shallow part cause I don't know how to swim . Trust me , the scenery there was really out of the world , I'm really grateful and thankful for my parents for bring me there . My brother almost drown as he went to swim at the center of the waterfall, my heart beat at that time was really fast , it was such a scary moment but gladly my father was nearby to save him . The funnier part is , after that he still brave to swim there but of course with under my father's observation.

Lastly , we start to packing our stuff and change our clothes in the toilet nearby and went home . I was sad to leave such awesome place , but i plan to go there again in the future , i also plan to go to more other places in Terengganu such as Tasik Kenyir and Pantai Batu Burok . The trip to Sekayu waterfall was such a superb trip and I'm sure that you will not regret it if you went there.
