It looks kinda cloudy and I thought it really brought out the light bald and really made that a focal point.

Throughout different color schemes and with the addition of shading.. First the color choices, I realized that combining colors and choosing which colors to use have a enormous effect on the artwork. It changes the way the audience looks at the art which allows for different views and opinions. Not only have I thought about the use of color choices but also shading. Coming into this class I had no clue how much of an effect shading has. I started this class with no to little knowledge of art. I knew only of a few famous artists but nothing about creating artwork. I started off with markers for my first project and it was decent but looking around the class no one else was using them. This made me think why is that the case. I came to a conclusion that art looks a lot better when you use other materials such as colored pencils, oil pastels and paint. It took a while to get used to using the oil pastels but I know understand how they work and I’ve noticed a big difference in the overall look of my work. But also with schemes I’ve learned how to shade and how to draw facial features. Sometimes walking into this class made me nervous. Mainly do to the fact that I was one of the worst artists in the class. This really hurt my self confidence and I often regretted taking this class. But now looking back I shouldn’t have been embarrassed or scared to come to art class. But I also struggled with the art itself. I couldn’t draw lips and a nose and it made me so flustered. But through perseverance and help from my peers I overcame these obstacles and got my work done. But in the near future I’m going to experiment with ceramics and a more hands on type of art. Maybe in my future I’ll take out a piece of paper and draw my thoughts or even just for fun. But if I ever have to draw for a class or just because, I’ll be a lot more prepared as I now know what the fundamentals to art are. But I needed another color to really bring out what those two colors were showing. Thats why I went with a blue. Blue represents sadness and mourning and at the time of my life that's exactly how I was feeling. But the blue really added more of a popping effect for the purple and the pink. I went with a casual black background because I really didn't want to take anything away from the piece. I thought when it was finished that it really made the piece more eye catching with the contrast. Lastly I added the scracthes around where my heart would be located.
