1. Warning and Test: Istidraj is a divine warning to the sinner that their actions are displeasing to Allah and that punishment is imminent. It's a test to see if the person will repent and return to the righteous path.

2. Temporary Success: In some cases, a sinner may experience temporary success or prosperity despite their wrongdoings. This can be seen as a form of istidraj, as it can lead to a false sense of security and complacency.

3. Ultimate Punishment: It's important to remember that istidraj is not a guarantee of eternal bliss for the sinner. The ultimate punishment for sins will come in the Hereafter.

4. Not Divine Approval: Istidraj should not be interpreted as divine approval or encouragement for sinful behavior. It's a sign that Allah is displeased with the sinner's actions and that they should seek His forgiveness.

• Belief in the Prophets: Muslims believe in a succession of prophets sent by Allah to guide humanity. They believe in the prophethood of Muhammad as the final and most complete prophet.

• Belief in the Day of Judgment: Muslims believe in the Day of Judgment, when Allah will resurrect all people and judge them based on their deeds. They believe in the existence of Heaven (Jannah) for the righteous and Hell (Jahannam) for the sinners.

• Belief in Qadar (Divine Decree): Muslims believe in the concept of Qadar, which encompasses both good and bad events as predestined by Allah. They believe that while Allah has predestined everything, humans still have free will and are accountable for their actions.

We cannot discern the differences between one prophet and another. Muslims believe in all the prophets and consider their words to be the words of God. Disbelief in a prophet's message is tantamount to disbelief in God Himself. Each prophet was a divine messenger sent to their respective people. The Prophet Muhammad conveyed God's message without alteration or addition. That's everything for now, والله أعلم بالصواب

• A pure intention can ignite enthusiasm and sincerity in learning. When you approach your studies with a genuine desire to learn and grow, you are more likely to be motivated and engaged.

  The Importance of Niat in Learning:

• Niat is a crucial factor in determining the value and effectiveness of your learning. A clear and sincere intention can guide your efforts and help you achieve your goals.

  No Action is Acceptable Before Allah Without Having Pure Intention:

• Allah does not accept actions that are not performed with a pure intention. This applies to all aspects of life, including learning. Your efforts will be more meaningful and rewarding if they are driven by a sincere desire to please Allah.

  To Seek for Allah's Pleasure:

• The ultimate goal of learning should be to seek Allah's pleasure. By studying with a pure intention to gain knowledge and use it to serve Allah, you can connect your learning to a higher purpose.

Leads to Sincerity and Good Deeds:

• A pure intention can lead to sincerity and good deeds. When you learn with sincerity, you are more likely to apply your knowledge in a positive and beneficial way.

In the Long-Term, Blessing (Barakah) Will Be Bestowed to the Knowledge Seeker and Their "Ilmu":

• If you learn with a pure intention and strive to use your knowledge for good, Allah will bless you with barakah (blessing). This means that your knowledge will be fruitful and beneficial, and you will be able to use it effectively to serve others and contribute to society.

" بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ جُلُوسٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه و سلم ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ، إذْ طَلَعَ عَلَيْنَا رَجُلٌ شَدِيدُ بَيَاضِ الثِّيَابِ، شَدِيدُ سَوَادِ الشَّعْرِ، لَا يُرَى عَلَيْهِ أَثَرُ السَّفَرِ، وَلَا يَعْرِفُهُ مِنَّا أَحَدٌ. حَتَّى جَلَسَ إلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه و سلم . فَأَسْنَدَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ إلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ، وَوَضَعَ كَفَّيْهِ عَلَى فَخِذَيْهِ،

وَقَالَ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ الْإِسْلَامِ.

فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه و سلم الْإِسْلَامُ أَنْ تَشْهَدَ أَنْ لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةَ، وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ، وَتَصُومَ رَمَضَانَ، وَتَحُجَّ الْبَيْتَ إنْ اسْتَطَعْت إلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا.

قَالَ: صَدَقْت . فَعَجِبْنَا لَهُ يَسْأَلُهُ وَيُصَدِّقُهُ!

قَالَ: فَأَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ الْإِيمَانِ.

قَالَ: أَنْ تُؤْمِنَ بِاَللَّهِ وَمَلَائِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ، وَتُؤْمِنَ بِالْقَدَرِ خَيْرِهِ وَشَرِّهِ.

قَالَ: صَدَقْت. قَالَ: فَأَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ الْإِحْسَانِ.

قَالَ: أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ كَأَنَّك تَرَاهُ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ تَرَاهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَرَاك.

قَالَ: فَأَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ السَّاعَةِ. قَالَ: مَا الْمَسْئُولُ عَنْهَا بِأَعْلَمَ مِنْ السَّائِلِ.

قَالَ: فَأَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ أَمَارَاتِهَا؟ قَالَ: أَنْ تَلِدَ الْأَمَةُ رَبَّتَهَا، وَأَنْ تَرَى الْحُفَاةَ الْعُرَاةَ الْعَالَةَ رِعَاءَ الشَّاءِ يَتَطَاوَلُونَ فِي الْبُنْيَانِ. ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ، فَلَبِثْتُ مَلِيًّا،

ثُمَّ قَالَ: يَا عُمَرُ أَتَدْرِي مَنْ السَّائِلُ؟.

قُلْتُ: اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ.

قَالَ: فَإِنَّهُ جِبْرِيلُ أَتَاكُمْ يُعَلِّمُكُمْ دِينَكُمْ ".

In Islamic spirituality, Ihsan involves seeking to perfect one’s relationship with Allah through sincere devotion, good character, and acts of kindness. One of the key aspects of Ihsan is performing deeds as though you see Allah, or knowing that He sees you, as mentioned in a famous Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH):

"Ihsan is to worship Allah as though you see Him, and if you do not see Him, He certainly sees you." (Sahih Muslim)

Ihsan also emphasizes being kind, generous, and just toward others, embodying the principles of goodness, empathy, and moral excellence in both public and private life.

Prayer: A Servant’s Need, Not Allah’s

Prayer is not just an obligation; it is a declaration of our servitude to Allah. Allah does not need our worship, but we need Him to attain His mercy and pleasure. It is the first act of worship to be accounted for on the Day of Judgment. Therefore, before striving to perform voluntary acts, we must perfect our obligatory prayers.

The Quran highlights the many benefits of prayer, beyond its spiritual significance. Prayer serves as a form of physical exercise, promoting overall well-being. Interestingly, studies suggest that Muslims have lower rates of diseases like cancer, in contrast to communities that engage in prohibited acts such as alcohol consumption. This proves that Islamic prohibitions are not mere restrictions but divine wisdom meant for our well-being.

Prayer is also a means of remembering Allah. When performed with sincerity and humility, it not only earns acceptance but also protects us from immoral behavior.

Fasting: A Path to Piety and Humility

Fasting is not merely abstaining from food and drink; it is a spiritual training to strengthen our piety. It teaches self-control, patience, and humility. Through fasting, we realize that all blessings we have are temporary gifts from Allah, making us more grateful and humble.

Zakat: Purifying the Soul and Spreading Kindness

Zakat is not just a duty; it is a way to purify the soul from greed and selfishness. It encourages generosity and helps those in need. The story of Abdurrahman bin ‘Auf serves as proof that the more one gives, the more blessings Allah bestows upon them.

Hajj: A Symbol of Discipline and Sacrifice

Hajj is a journey filled with rules and discipline. Every mistake has a consequence, teaching us to be mindful of our actions. It requires immense sacrifices—of wealth, time, and physical effort—all undertaken solely to seek Allah’s pleasure. Hajj also serves as a form of physical exercise, testing both endurance and faith, while uniting Muslims from all corners of the world.

Allah’s Mercy: The Key to Paradise

Ultimately, entering Paradise depends on Allah’s mercy. To attain His mercy, we must commit to worship. Through prayer, fasting, zakat, and Hajj, we draw closer to Allah, refine our character, and earn His love and mercy in this life and the hereafter.

Preparing for Prayer with Khusyu’ (Humility and Devotion)

Prayer is the first act of worship that will be accounted for on the Day of Judgment. Abu Hurairah (R.A) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:

"The first thing a servant will be judged upon on the Day of Judgment is his prayer."

Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih Al-‘Uthaymeen further explained:

"The first thing that a servant will be held accountable for regarding his deeds on the Day of Judgment is his prayer. This is related to the rights of Allah. If his prayer is good, then he has succeeded. But if his prayer is deficient, then he has failed and lost everything."

Physical and Environmental Preparation for Prayer

To perform prayer with khusyu’ (deep humility and devotion), one must prepare both physically and spiritually. This includes:

The Body – Ensuring cleanliness through wudu’ (ablution) and maintaining a state of purity.

The Clothing – Wearing attire that is clean, modest, and appropriate for prayer.

The Place of Prayer – Praying in a clean and distraction-free environment.

Why is Khusyu’ Important?

Demonstrate complete submission – It reflects our total surrender and devotion to Allah, acknowledging His greatness and our dependence on Him.

طاعة (Obedience) – A true act of submission, fulfilling Allah’s commands with sincerity and devotion.

جهاد (Struggle in Faith) – An inner jihad, striving against distractions and desires to maintain focus in prayer.

تواضع (Humility) – A reminder of our dependence on Allah, fostering a heart free from arrogance and pride.

محاسبة (Self-Reflection) – A moment of introspection, assessing our deeds and seeking self-improvement.

عفة (Modesty) – Cultivating a sense of shyness and honor, protecting our hearts and actions from wrongdoing.

Through prayer with khusyu’, we not only fulfill an obligation but also refine our souls, bringing us closer to Allah in both worship and character.
