We believe Sample B is a good sample

1 - the levels are precisely listed.

2 - there is a clear effort made by the teacher and thus leaves no scope for ambiguity.

3 - the clearly listed criteria guides the student.

4 - the teacher is able to fairly asses the student.

5 - the rubrics are clearly defined for the student to know how achieve the success criteria.

Sample B is better as all the criteria are clearly mentioned, scoring is easy, as we have more levels from 0 to 4 to score the work and student will be able to understand his level and work on it, student will gain the confidence as little more effort to is required to achieve it.

The performance descriptives used for sample B are more clear, detailed and the levels make it easier the teacher to put students into categories based on their performance, and for students it serves as a good success criteria.

Success criteria are clearly defined
It's easy to assess using this rubric for both students and teachers, and easy to follow for students as well .
Criteria are objective and comprehensive.
It show many levels of improvement. This helps students what level they are.
