Plot Ch.5 - Nick is returning from the city, after having tea with Jordan. Jordan explained to him that Gatsby knew Daisy and they used to be in love. He went to war and after the war he couldn't return to daisy. Daisy fell in love with Tom and married him. Gatsby and Daisy love each other very much still even though Daisy hasn't seen Gatsby in a long time. Nick is told by Jordan to invite Daisy over for tea so that Gatsby can come over and see her again. Daisy comes in and then sits down with nick, then Gatsby comes to the door from walking around the house. He comes in and sees Daisy and they all sit down. It was awkward when they were all together so nick leaves the house for an half an hour so they can be alone . When he returned he sees that Daisy and Gatsby are getting along and are happy with each other again.

The theme for chapter 5 is not everything is "not what It seems to be". An example of this theme is "don't bring Tom," I warned her. "What?" "Don't bring Tom." "Who is Tom?" This is Nick and Daisy talking and the reader thinks they are married but now Daisy talks like she doesn't even know Tom which proves the theme because the relationship is not what it seems too be.

Christian lessons, many of the characters do not live the life of a godly, Christian human being. This is only the start of the story and many characters are already doing wrong. Daisy and Tom are both cheating on their spouses with eachother , and now Daisy is showing interest in Gatspy, which is making Tom upset. Many party's happen in this book with many people getting out of control with their alcohol. These are not godly actions at all, these people need to find Jesus.

Simile- "He was running down like an over worked clock." The Author is trying to show that Nick is tired from all the partying he has been doing.
Simile- " He was a mixture of long and short sentences with plenty of detail and imagery." The Author is trying to portray a sense of unknown or blankness describing Gatsby, Gatsby is full of surprises in character that few know of.
Symbolism- "Her actual and astounding presence none of it was any longer real." The Author is trying to show that Tom has lost respect for Daisy after her flirtatious actions she has been having with Gatsby.
