Harry Potter

The Harry Potter books are not just books. They are a universe in themselves. While the adventures and near-death experiences of Harry, Ron and Hermione are not that relatable, their small actions as just students definitely are. During Quidditch games, the cheering is similar to the way we react in inter-house matches. In the previous generation, The Marauders are a good example of students now. The books and movies have similarities but there are differences too. The colour of Harry's eyes in the movies is blue but in the books is green. That wouldn't have been very significant if everyone wasn't constantly pointing out his eyes. The mix of adventure and slight dark humour is wonderful to see.

Percy Jackson

Percy Jackson. One of the best series ever (I don't say that, Google does). I admit, the movie isn't that good, but the books are amazing. I would never regret reading those books. They are the main reason I got into greek and roman mythology. These books are a perfect balance of action, adventure, emotion and comedy. Each book is connected, yet unique. These, like HP, are a whole universe.
After Percy Jackson and the Olympians [PJO], we have Heroes of Olympus [HOO], Trials of Apollo [TOA] and a new book following Will and Nico. Then there is, of course, Magnus Chase and Daughter of the Deep. Both wonderful series/books.

Punjabi, also written Panjabi, is one of the most spoken languages in the world. You will find native speakers of this language in every part of the world. The Punjab Official Language (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was introduced on November 11, 2021 in the Punjab Assembly. The Bill amends the Punjab Official Language Act, 1967. The Act provides for the adoption of Punjabi, written in the Gurmukhi script, as the official language of the state government. The script is similar to the Devanagari Script in which hindi is written, but it is not the same. There are many differences. For example 'eye' is aankh in Hindi but akkh in Punjabi. Multani is also another language spoken in Punjab.
source: brittanica

The main religion followed by people in Punjab is Sikhism. This religion is one of the youngest in the world, started over 500 years ago by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The scripture of the sikhs is known as Guru Granth Sahib Ji and is the final, sovereign and eternal Guru. It contains 5877 hymns or Shabads. It teaches about the oneness of humanity and importance of equality amongst all humans. It gives guidance on how to live our lives.
Idol worship is forbidden in Sikhism and is mentioned in texts like the Guru Granth Sahib Ji. It is believed that the divine creator cannot be limited to one form and is present everywhere which is why idol worshipping is prohibited.
Any auspicious occasion is marked by an important ritual. Ardaas is done in the Gurudwara Sahib followed by Kirtan and distribution of Kada Prashad.

Recently, we celebrated Lohri in our school. This festival is from Punjab and happens every year of 13th of January. It marks the harvest of the rabi crops and the end of winter days. The people worship the sun and the fire and thank them for the good harvest. The day is observed by all communities with different names.
There is also Vaisaikhi on 14th of April every year. To celebrate Vaisakhi, Sikhs will visit Gudwaras. These will also be especially decorated for the occasion.

Many people enjoy parades and special processions through the streets called nagar kirtans. On this day, the first five member of the Khalsa were chosen by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699.
