This issue impacts the plot because there's so much violence. This has everything to do with the setting because they live in a low income, violent, and dirty city.  There’s a lot of real world issues. One article is about a 17 year old rapper named “La Capone” was shot and killed. LA was a rapper from Chicago. Another article on 20 year old rapper “Young Pappy” and was also shot and killed. Pappy was from Northside of Chicago. Last article is 18 year old rapper Lil Jojo and he was shot and killed while riding his bike. It affects them a lot because what they see and live is gonna turn them into what’s around them you know? It needs to be solved because people are dying and getting robbed because of this. I honestly don’t think this can be solved. Some facts about gang violence is that, Chicago (one of the most dangerous places) had 762 homicides in 2016. "Neighborhood violence makes Jesse really fearful. It's a fear that follows him even into places where he knows that he's safe. Let's be real: If you can get shot just walking out the front door, it's understandable that you don't feel totally safe in the kitchen" Chicago had more killings then Iraq and Afghanistan’s war. There total is 6,778, and Chicago’s is 8,384 since 2001. There were 1,606 more killings in Chicago.
