How Did We Determine Our Unknown?

We took the stick of wood with element C and we compared the color to the other colors we already knew.

What ESLRs were addressed in this experiment and why?

The E (Effective communicator) and the S (Critical thinker) in ESLR where used in this experiment. The "Effective Communicator" was used to work with a partner or partners so we can get the information we needed. The "Critial Thinker" was used to be able to allpy what we know to figure out what our unknown elemat was.

We stuck pieces of wood covered in certain elements into the cone of the flame and noted the vibrant colors.

What Hppened In Our Experiments?

The elements on the sticks of wood turned vibrant colors when burned.

Why Did These Phenomenons Happen?

The element's electrons rose from their ground state from the heat from the flame to change their energy levels. So, they changed colors in their excited state.
