what i know: dignity kitchen is a social enterprise that employs differently-abled individuals

what i learned: kitchen practices can be adjusted to include the differently-abled, making it easier for them to have the opportunity to make a living. education is also very important to educate both the general public, and the differently-abled on how they can contribute to society

1. Standard form of cooking. But it was mentioned that food prep is normally done in the morning before the lunch crowd comes in so that service will be faster.

10. They get to contribute the kitchen through growing the vegetables rather then working with the cooking equipment. Some people have their strengths and interests in planting. Can employ more people.

What sorts of people with disabilities does dignity kitchen caters to. A variety of people from hearing impaired to people with autism etc. We observed and reflected that it was difficult for people with visual disabilities to work here. But they could potentially help out at the back kitchen or even learn instruments to perform for patrons.

1. The stakeholders include media, volunteers, partners, donors, customers, suppliers etc. Dignity Kitchen has impacted each stakeholders by having a clear vision and mission that is to help those not abled.

2. The food has been prepared and it is more easier and convenient for those not abled hawkers to serve the meal.

3. After this tour, there are several aspects on social empowerment of food that I find quite interesting. Food doesn't just give those that require special care a job but can also realize the " Zero Hunger " UN goal.

Stakeholders: people with different abilities, other employees, consumers, trainers, corporate partners.

Observations: It is difficult to differentiate people with different abilities with others. They seem just like any other person when at work. The kitchen is built in a way such that it caters to people with different abilities.

Food serves the social purpose of getting people together and allowing them to interact with one another. This let's people from all backgrounds to understand one another better. We can help to promote this place via word of mouth and social media.
