Helen Mirren was honored with the 2026 Cecil B. DeMille Award. Mirren was presented the Cecil B. DeMille Award by her "1923" co-star Harrison Ford. Colman Domingo kicked things off with a toast to Parker which includes a nod to Parker's iconic "Sex and the City" character, Carrie Bradshaw. Domingo admired her for her love intelligence and style. Parker said her favorite theme from the show was friendship.

In the past, federal and local law enforcement have worked together to quickly gather evidence, due interviews and share information in cases of officer-involved killings. Like in the investigation into the killing of Minneapolis George Floyd, local law enforcement was focused on bringing state murder charges, while the federal investigation focused on if civil rights laws were violated. There was a similar shooting that happened couple days ago when a women tried to end an ICE officers life. Since the shooting late Wednesday morning, top administration officials have firmly stated what they believe the federal investigation should focus on going to end the case.

In the Philippines there was a landslide of trash that happened to bury workers killing 1 and leaving 27 other missing people police say. Rescuers retrieve 8 people alive and were still searching for the other 27 people that had gotten trapped under the waste. Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival said Friday that at least 12 people have been rescued and 38 others remained missing. The reason for the different numbers of missing and rescued given by police and Archival was not immediately clear. Police and officials at the waste management facility, which has 110 employees, were to hold an emergency meeting on Friday, Archival said. It's also unclear if any houses that are nearby were affected.

56-year-old Arlene Lillis, from Minnesota, tragically died from a shark attack in St. Croix. Multiple calls were made to emergency services around 4:28 p.m., reporting that a woman had been bitten while in the water. Marein units say that the woman had gotten her arm bitten off. Her injuries did lead to death. They are also saying there was possibly a second victim; the search around the surrounding beach by the St. Croix rescue team did not find any other victims injured.

The thought of the death penalty made many angry and prosecutor Sean Buckley wrote, "There is simply no factual basis for the assertion that outside corporate interests influenced the Attorney General's charging decision in any fashion. The defendant's insinuations otherwise rest on an inaccurate financial narrative." Mangione has not pleaded guilty and is trying to defend himself from the death penalty while others are still pushing for it.

A woman was visiting the U.S. Virgin Islands when a shark attacked her. Several people dialed 911, and police and marine units were sent to handle the situation. The lady had indeed been attacked and had lost an arm. Reports say there could have been a second victim, but they have not been found. The woman would later die from her injuries.

On Friday, Luigi Mangione returns to the Manhattan federal court- where he will be getting the death penalty if convicted of stalking and killing Brian Thompson on the street in New York 2024. The appearance involved a three week hearing where Mangione tried to convince the judge to exclude critical evidence that was found in his backpack by the police. Prosecutors said there was no need for a hearing in the federal case. Others are still actively pushing for the death penalty while Mangione is defending himself from in and not pleading guilty.

Two people were injured in a shooting involving federal agents in Portland. The Department of Homeland Security stated that the shooting took place during a targeted stop on two people who were allegedly affiliated with the Tren de Aragua gang. The DHS have also stated that when the agents identified themselves, the driver weaponized his car and attempted to run over the agents. The mayor of Portland has called on ICE to cease all operations until a full investigation can be conducted.

In Minneapolis after a woman was shot and killed by an ice agent citizens are enraged. The officer claimed that Renee attempted to run over ice agents and responded by shooting her in self defense. Secretary Kristi Noem stated that the car was a "deadly weapon" and that it was an "act of domestic terrorism". However the Mayor and Governor of Minneapolis disagree with this and believe that Renee wasn't driving towards the agents nor using her car as a weapon. Officials said they will keep up her memorial and keep the area around it clean to honor her. When the DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin was asked for the identity of the officer she responded with "He acted according to his training".

Renee Nicole Good was parked diagonally in the road, so an officer went to the front of the car. Then Renee puts her car in reverse, and ICE moves to the front-left side of the car. Good puts her wheels away from the officer and starts to drive away as the ICE officer rings out shots into her car. A few hours later, Trump responds to the situation, saying that "It is hard to believe the ICE officer is alive."

On Wednesday, an ICE agent fatally shot 37-year-old Renne Good. They said she was using her car as a weapon, driving towards the ICE agent and attempting to injure the agent. The mayor of Minneapolis said ¨This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying -- getting killed.¨ The ICE agents got out of their car, and instead of trying to de-escalate the situation, they went up and tried to get her out of her car. She turned her wheel to the opposite side of the agent, and he shot multiple shots at her vehicle. She was killed instantly, and her car kept going, which caused a crash down the street. She was a mother of 3 and was huge into singing and writing poetry.

After the double murder of the two, detectives Michael linked to a car caught on a camera during the shooting. On Sunday afternoon, an avalanche hit Lincoln County, Wyoming, taking the 31-year-old Nicholas Bringhost with it. Nicholas was snowmobiling when he was caught in an avalanche with no escape, where the cell toers reported an accident, and when the emergency services were called, they found Nicholas. After attempting CPR, they deduced that he died from the impact of the avalanche that hit him.
