Later on in her essay she focuses back on her topic, what she was trying to get the reader to understand in the first place. She included the example in the beginning of the essay to make the reader connect and know what the topic might be about before going straight to point. For example, she starts out her essay by bringing up her personal experience with homeless people and she goes into full detail to explain people who once had a home but no longer have one.
