The purpose of this activity is to allow students a virtual first-hand interview of an artificial soldier's experiences, thoughts, and emotions about the war and its effects.

Student Directions: You are tasked with interviewing a Vietnam War veteran. You must ask Level 2 and Level 3 Reporters Questions that are relevant, probing, and critical thinking questions. You should ask questions relevant to causes, challenges, motivations, effects, experiences, and thoughts on their experiences. Veteran points of view may be in opposition to or in support of the war.

I used Sidekick to help my students get feedback on a narrative essay.

The prompt I wrote asked Sidekick to give students feedback on their plot. I did a mock essay and copied and pasted it into the preview. Sidekick then gave me praise for doing a good job so far and gave me suggestions on adding descriptions to my character and setting. I'll definitely be trying this out in my class.
